| stone_thecrows03-03-08, 04:21 PM | ...for the 100th time.... Can a specialist Wizard cast spells from his prohibited schools via a different Class/Prestige Class? For example you start as a Specialist Wizard for one level and then take a level of Sorcerer (requirement for Ultimate Magus) and then take 3 more Wizard levels. Can you pick spells known for the Sorcerer from the schools you're prohibited from as a Specialist Wizard? thanks in advance |

Becoming a specialist Wizard removes certain schools from your "wizardly" knowledge but doesn't remove that knowledge from other casting knowledge (ie lists) you may know. Even before the Ultimate Magus came along picking up a level of Sorcerer to go with your Specialist Wizard was the only reason to follow that path as it let you use magic items involving the schools forbidden to your Wizard. |
