Pyrokineticist Firre Lash [Archive] - Wizards Community

12-09-07, 07:22 PM Under the psionic/magic equivalence rules, SR will apply to the Pyrokineticist "fire lash". Shall i apply it to each hit? I don't like applying it on a per-creature basis, as it makes things too random (either the pyro does a trukload of damage, or none). On a per-hit basis, it reduces the average damage by a factor.

Does the lash threaten? I imagine it does. Does the rogue/pyro get sneak attack? I'm assuming so. I also have ruled that the pyro is proficient in the weapon (the SRD doesn't say), but that this proficiency does not extend to regular whips.

12-09-07, 07:50 PM By page 184 of the Expanded Psionics Handbook it wouldn't be subject to Power Resistance because it doesn't replicate a power that is subject to power resistance.

Strangely enough it has no manifester level. :confused:

Whips, as ranged weapons (effectively), do not threaten adjacent squares, nor any squares within their range.

Since the ability requires an attack roll and deals damage, it can also deal Sneak Attack damage (and other similar damage bonuses as well). Such damage will also have the fire descriptor. See Complete Arcane for the specific rules in question on that subject.

All good?It never says so, but yeah, it's pretty common sense that it's proficient with its own class feature, just as Wizards don't take non-proficiency penalties with their ray attacks or whatever.
