I was wondering about the barbarians rage again. When a barb gets multiple rages in one day can he use these one after another or does he need to rest first. for instance he ragee fro 7 rds and then when that over rages a second time for a total of 14 rds (a usufull tactic one of my players used in the last combat against a horde of skeltons). When it was over i demanded that the fatigue mods be double (-4 rather then -2) but he claimed that since he would only get -2 each time he raged a day these mods shouldn't stack. Im a little unclear on this matter but my ruling stood. So do fatigue mods for barbs who rage more then once a day stakc or not? Also is it possible for a barb to rage consectivly or does he need to rest first before raging again for the day?

A barbarian can normally only rage once per encounter, even if he doesn't get tired after a rage.

If he is fatigued from a rage then he can't rage.

If he not longer has fatigue penalties from raging then why can't he use the rage a second time during an encounter?

I thought a charachter had to rest a full 8 hours before losing any fatigue mods. Rest being described as a period of time without strenous or adverse circumstances. If thats the case then how can a barbarian rage multiple times a day. If he needs to get rid of his fatigued state first that would mean he would need 8 hours of rest in between rages. Wouldn't it just make sense to have his fatigue mods stack? Is this correct or am i missing somthing?

In the case of the fatigue from the barbarian's rage ending, the fatigue condition lasts until the end of the encounter.

At the end of the rage, the barbarian loses the rage modifiers and restrictions and becomes fatigued (–2 penalty to Strength, –2 penalty to Dexterity, can’t charge or run) for the duration of the current encounter (unless he is a 17th-level barbarian, at which point this limitation no longer applies; see below).

In addition, the second paragraph of the rage class feature makes it clear that a barbarian can only use rage once per encounter, as Millennium said.

A barbarian can fly into a rage only once per encounter. At 1st level he can use his rage ability once per day. At 4th level and every four levels thereafter, he can use it one additional time per day (to a maximum of six times per day at 20th level). Entering a rage takes no time itself, but a barbarian can do it only during his action, not in response to someone else’s action.

No and no. A barbarian can only rage 1/encounter that is all. But after the encounter the fatigue is gone so he doesn't have to rest.

So do fatigue mods for barbs who rage more then once a day stakc or not?
So clearly the barbarian can't rage more than once in an encounter and thus can't double fatigue himself in that way, but there are other ways to get fatigued and fatigued again (end rage and then hit with waves of fatigue for example). In this case the character becomes exhausted.
exhausted
Tired to the point of significant impairment. An exhausted character moves at half speed and takes a -6 penalty to Strength and Dexterity. After 1 hour of complete rest, an exhausted character becomes fatigued. A fatigued character becomes exhausted by doing something else that would normally cause fatigue.

I have spent hours searching for the answer to this question, and I would be tremendously grateful if someone could share their knowledge with me:
Can a barbarian suffering from the effects of fatigue, from i.e. from hustling or Dervish Dance, still rage? If so, does he have the -2 to STR and DEX ++
Likewise, can a Dervish dance after hustling or raging?

Initiating a rage has the requirement of the Barbarian activating it. So if lets say he got fatigued from heat, and a monster attacked he could rage. He'd have a -2 to strength from the fatigue, and would get his +4 to str from raging. Raging doesn't get rid of the fatigue, and when he was done raging, he would become Exhausted (I believe if you are fatigued and do something that would make you fatigued you become exhausted). So unless Fatigue makes it impossible to rage, then the Barbarian could rage while fatigued. The exeption is that if he was fighting a bunch of orcs and raged, when the rage ended, he couldn't rage again till after the encounter was done with as was stated earlier.

So if the Devish dance makes you fatigued, unless it specifies that you can't rage, then you may rage..you'd though become exhausted after the rage ended. The question becomes would you stop being exhausted when the encounter was over, as you stop being fatigued due to rage when the encounter is over and don't have to rest 8hrs.

Also unlesst he dervish dance prevents you from raging during you could 'Dance' and 'Rage'. Just that you would be Exhausted at the end of the rage. Fun no?

Two things:

1) Fatigue and exhaustion do not prevent a barbarian from raging. The conditions do not go away when the barbarian rages either.
2) A dervish cannot rage and perform a dervish dance at the same time. It's explicitly stated in the description for the dervish dance.

That line refers only to fatigue induced by environmental hazards, IIRC. Fatigue caused by rage is governed by its own set of rules.:)
