05-15-07, 09:59 AM So does the new Magic Item Compendiums random treasure tables use the party EL? I've read and re-read and it's looking like it's just per individual CR'd monster....

If I have a fight with five different creatures... Do I need to roll five times on the table to keep it balanced? Or can I just use EL instead and roll once?

05-15-07, 02:52 PM Both methods should produce the same result for overall treasure gold value, but instead of, say, 10 low value items, you'd get 2-3 high-value items.

05-15-07, 04:38 PM It uses the CR of individual creatures, but I agree with Morwen's assessment. You should end up with approximately the same total amount, just concentrated into fewer items.

This may be a good or a bad thing, however, as it does not make liquification of funds very easy.
