Could a raven for example, because it can speak a language, speak the command word of a wand and use the use magic device skill to activate it? In other words, could you give your raven familiar your wand of magic missiles tell it to fly over the battle field, and tell it to zap spell casters?

No, because Wands do not use command word only: they use spell list. Now if the Master had UMD as well than the Raven would gained those ranks and e able to use the wand.
Radijs 02-08-08, 09:20 AM	Rods and other magical items that have the command word trigger are fair game though.
Kouk 02-09-08, 12:22 AM	I guess it can work, as long as you pay attention to the weight limit the bird can fly with. You'll soon have a very dead familiar though, and be out a magic wand or rod.
