| spikevampire07-04-07, 07:34 PM | Referring to the table in DM book, how can i found a matematic rule to understand that possession progression? i am starting to become mad!!! |
| Anathema07-04-07, 08:13 PM | If you mean the 'wealth by level' table, it's really just a guideline. The monsters in the MM book are generally balanced around the players having approximate items at around the wealth listed for the given level. If your players have more or less you can either adjust the amount of treasure you give them, or you can adjust the difficulty of the monsters. Is that what you mean? |
| spikevampire07-05-07, 07:03 AM | no i really means if someone know how the Whealty table goes on... what matematic rules stay at this table... |
| mvincent07-05-07, 12:49 PM | how can i found a matematic rule to understand that possession progression?I've analyzed it, and there is no mathematical rule that I can determine, even though expected wealth levels are reasonably close to the XP levels (which does use a formula) for lvls 1-10. Note though that actual numbers cannot be provide here, since Character Wealth Level information is not open content, and providing Non-OGL copyrighted material is a violation of the Code of Conduct here. One would have to use their books (or Google) to obtain that information for themselves. |
| spikevampire07-05-07, 05:51 PM | ok thanks :D don't worry about it and sorry for stupid question |
| Ace_of_time07-08-07, 12:04 PM | There is another table in there. page 51. treasure per encounter. It should take about 13 encounters to level up give or take a few CRs. At first level they should get 300 gp. time that by 13 and divide that by 4 person party = 975 by 2rd level for each person. |
| eamon07-20-07, 04:01 PM | You could use the following: 915 * level * 1.22^level which results in the wealth you should have at the end of a level (i.e. to compare it to the normal Wealth by level, use: 915 * (level-1) * 1.22^(level-1) This works pretty good levels 1-20, Although level 1 has too much wealth (which isn't a problem in my book). This results in wealth table: 0 1,116 2,724 4,985 8,108 12,365 18,102 25,765 35,924 49,306 66,837 89,696 119,377 157,776 207,294 270,963 352,613 457,075 590,433 760,346 |
| suppio07-27-07, 01:33 PM | I've always use the "wealth by level" as a guideline however, i try to take into account permenant items to comsumable items. This where the charcaters usually make out. I take into account what the characters own (I.E. weapons, armor, magic items, etc...) to their consumables (I.E. potions, wands, scrolls, etc...). I always make sure that there "owned" wealth matches or exceeds the "estimated" wealth while co'pletely ignoring the consumables. I realize the consumables can be sold for hard wealth, but i figure that in when i give the characters the treasure. Keeping track of this works best if you are given copies of the players character sheets (which i always do). My players end up being more well off then the estimate (and has also led to a group of adventurers with spell-bound wills). |
| Ace_of_time07-29-07, 10:17 PM | I could be wrong but I think the wealth by level table takes into account them using 20% in comsumables. I always use it for starting at higher levels. |
