| Arr MiHardies07-01-07, 11:43 AM | For a change, im considering making a melee character with a low str score. This is something i havent encountered before, so.... I am sure that a negative str modifer would provide a penalty to melee attacks, but since str is factored into melee damage, does it also subtract from the damage dealt with melee weapons? |
| Millenia07-01-07, 11:55 AM | Of course strength reduces the damage dealt with melee weapons. |
| Arr MiHardies07-01-07, 12:04 PM | can a negative str modifer reduce damage to 0, or is there a minimum of 1 dmg? |
| Prince_of_Parkness07-01-07, 03:03 PM | Theres a minimum of 1 damage |
| Anathema07-01-07, 06:02 PM | I have also thought there is a minimum of 1 damage; but I can't find where it says that in the PHB or DMG. Do you have a source? |
| gimby07-01-07, 07:12 PM | Here you go: http://www.d20srd.org/srd/combat/combatStatistics.htm#minimumDamage |
| Ozymandias V.07-01-07, 07:44 PM | It says you add your Strength MODIFIER, not your Strength BONUS. So as stated by other people, a Strength score lower than ten does indeed reduce your damage. |
