crowclub 04-29-07, 06:22 PM	If you summon an Animal will it attack to the best of it's ability any creature you are fighting? Will it choose not to fight Evil Outsiders? Unnatural creatures? I mean does it care? Do you need to apply Handle Animal rules to summoned Animals when you don't need to direct or control other types of summoned creatures?

I agree, but this dude on the En World rules page insists that Animals wont attack unnatural creatures and seems to think that RPGA judges agree. I think he's on drugs but hey. :P

The rules for the Handle Animal (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/skills/handleAnimal.htm)skill say: "Normally, an animal will attack only humanoids, monstrous humanoids, giants, or other animals. Teaching an animal to attack all creatures (including such unnatural creatures as undead and aberrations) counts as two tricks." So animals can certainly attack unnatural creatures, they just generally averse to doing so. However, summoned animals do not require the Handle animal skill. I'd be surprised at any RPGA judge that would think otherwise (perhaps he was thinking of non-summoned animals). btw: can you provide a link to the enworld thread you are referring to?
