I was trying to make an NPC cleric but I rebuking undead isn't really in the style of the character... it could be useful and i will probably end up keeping it on the NPC

but

if i were to change it what do you think it would be worth ? a bonus feat ? cast a lvl 5 spell 1/day ? more less ?

It would really depend on which spell... And I would require it be only ONE spell. Not just "a 5th level spell."

Have the cleric take a Divine Feat.

yeah one spell that's it not change at whim... im not that stupid... divine feat... maybe but a lot of them depend on the Turn/Rebuke power to begin with

I think he was saying that if you want the NPC cleric to have a use for turn/rebuke to just make sure to include a divine feat in his build.

In regard to your question, though, turn/rebuke is not a particularly useful ability outside of powering divine feats. I think that a level 5 spell 1/day is definitely above and beyond the power of turn/rebuke. A feat would be a little closer, though I would probably have it be something in line with the cleric's deity. Perhaps weapon proficiency/focus with the deity's favored weapon would be about right or maybe skill focus (some domain related skill).

Unearthed Arcana [OGL] has a variant as follows:

Cleric
Some clerics prefer to be champions of good (or evil), standing at the forefront of the battle against the enemy.

Gain
Smite evil, if the cleric would normally channel positive energy, or smite good, if the cleric would normally channel negative energy (as paladin); aura of courage (as paladin).

Lose
Turn undead.

The idea is that, instead of using your turn/rebuke attempts to affect undead, you use them to fuel other abilties. Thus, even if the NPC cleric can rebuke undead, he channels his negative energy elsewhere.
