Does anything happen to the duration? 3 - Cloak of Hide from Undead Which rulebook did I get this out of? It wasn't the MIC - I can't find it there. If the wearer attacks, does he become visible to just the undead attacked, or to all undead that saw the attack? For how long? Anyone know? |

No, the duration stays the same. 3 - Cloak of Hide from Undead Which rulebook did I get this out of? It wasn't the MIC - I can't find it there. Hide From Undead is on page 241 of the Player's Handbook so go by that. As I read it is doesn't go poof like Invisibility when you attack. |

Incorrect, it does go "poof" as per invisibility when you attack. If a warded creature attempts to turn or command undead, touches an undead creature, or attacks any creature (even with a spell), the spell ends for all recipients. My emphasis. :dragon: ***** |

(Considering the complexity of the rules at times, I think it's fair to count the SRD as an unfamiliar language that shares an alphabet with english) |
| pmurray@bigpond.com11-20-07, 08:55 PM | Incorrect, it does go "poof" as per invisibility when you attack. Ok, then - how do I handle an item that provides a continuous Hide From Undead effect? I suppose it goes "poof" for all undead in a position to see the attack. ... Ok, how about if the wearer attacks undead A, undead A engages, the wearer goes Total Defence, and undead B comes around the corner? Hey! Intelligent undead (like, say, Kyuss spawn) get a will save! Sweet. |

Such effects should require some kind of activation method, similarly to a ring of invisibility. It makes little sense to allow for an item that allows a continuous effect that can normally be broken. |
| Phrennzy11-21-07, 10:02 AM | IMO, the item's invisibility, if broken, reasserts itself at the start of your next turn, unless you attack again, in which case it does not. (It doesn't render you invisible so that you can attack from invisibility again). |
| heffroncm11-21-07, 10:13 AM | Conditional duration effects are not meant to be made continuous. All of the nearest analogs recquire some sort of item activation. |
