| DMDaddy08-07-07, 01:44 AM | Should I track all dungeon time based on average party movement per minute (200 ft. walk for my group)? How do other DMs track time? Maybe there's a tracking sheet download that someone can point me too? |

Most of the time dungeons aren't big enough to take a significant amount of time. And if the dungeons are big enough then I generally estimate the amount of hours they are in there. |

If you're in a relatively small complex with no more than a 5-10 rooms just track by rounds. If your PC's are moving through a wilderness setting like a cavern system with winding tunnels, areas to climb, etc then you should track it by distance. I ususally make a flow chart using squares for encounters or significant obstacles (skill check areas) and use lines for tunnels/trails/rivers and note the distance and time it takes to travel it beforehand. |
