You cannot initiate a maneuver or change your stance while you are recovering your expended maneuvers I had thought that initiating a manuver counts as making a melee attack, and so you could move(move act)/recover(swift act)/maneuver(standard attack act) each round. However, someone has been saying that the italic text above means that you cannot initiate a maneuver in the same round if you use a swift action during that round to recover maneuvers. I don't dee that the rule is saying that. As far as I can see says nothing more than "you only get one swift action per round", making the point that you therefore cannot both recover maneuvers and also change your stance (unless you use a move action to change stance and a standard action to attack or do nothing). Rulings, anyone? |

Rulings, anyone?I think it's rather clear in its intention. When the text says, "You cannot initiate a maneuver or change your stance while you are recovering your expended maneuvers," it pretty clearly means that you cannot initiate a maneuver or change your stance in a round in which you are recovering your maneuvers. The Swift Action, alone, is not enough to recover your maneuvers. It's a Swift Action alongside a specific standard action. As such, you are still recovering your epended maneuvers while performing the required standard action, and therefore cannot utilize Maneuvers or change stances that round. --Kain |
