| TheKingOfAmn08-15-07, 01:38 PM | The Warshaper prestige class in Complete Warrior allows a player to grow the natural weapons and natural armor of other creatures. The weapons (claws, bites, horns, etc.) do damage appropriate to the player’s size, but the CW doesn’t give guidelines for what natural armor the player can grow. Trogdolyte armor, I would assume, is pretty standard (+6). But what about the natural armor of other creatures? Outsiders? Aborrations? These natural armor bonuses would be much more significant (in the twenties). Should I only allow the player to obtain the natural armor of another creature in his size category? Only humanoids? The ability is very open-ended… |

| Anathema08-15-07, 01:55 PM | I just read the class three times and didn't see anything regarding natural armor. Are you certain you have the right class? |
| TheKingOfAmn08-15-07, 02:00 PM | True, true, it is not specifically stated under the abilities of the class. In the description of the class, however, it states that the player can grow claws, tails, and armored skin at a moment's notice. It seemed reasonable to include that in the Morphic Weapons power. |
| Matthew7708-15-07, 02:06 PM | If its listed in the fluff text, but not in the class abilities, then it falls into the category of "looks cool for RP purposes, but no mechanical game effects." |
| DrMorganes08-15-07, 02:07 PM | Crunch trumps fluff. If it's not specifically mentioned in the crunchy bits of the class description, the class does not have the ability. |
