| Morwen06-27-07, 10:53 PM | Spellcraft DC 20+spell level to decipher the writing (or use read magic). To activate the scroll, you must have a sufficient ability score to cast the spell (for a 5th-level spell, a 15 is enough). Then you must make a caster level check (DC = scroll's caster level +1, so in this case the DC is 11. Roll d20 and add your caster level, which is 3 in this case (Meaning you need an 8). If you fail the caster level check, roll a DC 5 Wisdom check to avoid a mishap. A natural 1 always fails this particular caster level check. |
