| reveal03-24-07, 04:54 AM | Let's say a druid has a 16 base WIS and the Natural Spell feat. She also a periapt of wisdom +2, so her WIS is effectively 18 in human form. She wild shapes into a creature. Is her WIS in the new form 16 or 18 for purposes of spellcasting? |
| runestar03-24-07, 06:32 AM | 16. No thanks in part to the new wildshape errata. Wild Shape Player’s Handbook, page 37 Replace sentence 3 of this class feature with the following text: This ability functions like the alternate form special ability (see the Monster Manual), except as noted here. Add the following sentence to the end of paragraph 1: Each time you use wild shape, you regain lost hit points as if you had rested for a night. Add this new paragraph after the current paragraph 1: Any gear worn or carried by the druid melds into the new form and becomes nonfunctional. When the druid reverts to her true form, any objects previously melded into the new form reappear in the same location on her body that they previously occupied and are once again functional. Any new items worn in the assumed form fall off and land at the druid's feet. This also means that you may lose your bonus slots from high wis if appropriate. |

| Millennium03-27-07, 09:15 AM | What about the Wild enchantment I have heard about? Or is that only for armor? I think that one's only for armor. However, Masters of the Wild had a small magic item called a wilding clasp that could be attached to other magic items. Doing this was basically equivalent to giving the item the Wild enchantment: it didn't meld into the druid's wildshaped form and remained functional unless it was impossible for the druid's wildshaped form to use it for some other reason. I haven't seen this item updated to 3.5 yet, but I suspect it's in the MIC. |
| A_Wizard_for_Breakfast03-27-07, 09:42 AM | It is indeed in the MIC. Says something to the effect of "if the new form can reasonably wear it" then it doesn't meld into the new form. Since magic clothing and the like resizes to fit the wearer, this means you can make the vast majority of your items stick around. Cost: 4000 gp. |
| TheBigShow03-29-07, 08:06 AM | i asked this in another thread, and i'll throw it out there, again. how do u guys play urban shape. i don't change into a naked orc with no weapon, do i? |
| runestar03-29-07, 10:04 AM | What the heck is urban shape? |
| MarkB03-29-07, 01:09 PM | I seem to recall that one of the options in the Magic Item Compendium's revised item creation system is that you can now build stat-boosters into armour at no extra cost. So if you're wearing a set of armour with the Wild property and a +2 Wisdom bonus, you'd keep all the benefits of the armour when wildshaped. |
