Is it just me, or does it seem strange that you get no bonuses for fighting with two weapons and using the whirlwind attack. I feel like you should get some kind of bonus, either an off hand attack against your opponents, or the ability to attack additional opponents offhanded.

Comments, opinions anyone?

Whirlwind attack is a very specialize attack. I think it is fine the way it is. That is not to say that another feat could not be added-- Two-weapon Whirlwind

Prereqs: Whirlwind attack; Two-weapon fighting

That might cover it.

Well if you wanted to give the TWF character a little love you could always allow them to mix in either weapon. Could be handy if they have different enhancements on their weapons.

In our group we house rule, so a TWF whirlwind attack gives half off-hand attacks you would normally get (rounded down), i.e.:

4 enemies
2 primary attacks/1 off-hand attack
Full attack: 3; Whirlwind: 4; TWF whirlwind: 4;

4 enemies
2 primary attacks/2 off-hand attack
Full attack: 4; Whirlwind: 4; TWF whirlwind: 5;

We also have a home brewed feat, TWF whirlwind attack, which let's you take normal number of off-hand attacks (BAB+11, whirlwind attack, improved TWF) and another feat, whirlwind of death, which let`s you hit every opponent with both weapons (BAB+16, whirlwind, greater TWF).
That`s basically because we just can`t imagine a warrior spinning around with his weapon pointed forward (unless it`s a slashing/bludgeoning THW, and even those aren't all). We rather see it as a set of quick attacks at different enemies. And here TWF fits well.
Just my 2cp ;).

Cheers (and good night... it`s almost sunrise, heh...)

Yeah, I don't see a big balance issue here if it's based off at least 1 extra feat. I mean Whirlwind Attack is already pretty intensive needing 5 feats, if it depended on the TWF tree that's 3 more, plus at least 1 more feat to do it? That's 9 feats, more if you give that out over more than 1 feat. Sounds like a way to make a high level TWF fighter a little better in a very select number of circumstances, and giving him some payoff from a huge investment in feats.

PHB2 improved whirlwind allows you to all your attacks.

PHB2 improved whirlwind allows you to all your attacks.

This makes absolutely no sense.

PHB2 improved whirlwind allows you to all your attacks.
IIRC, you simply make a normal whirlwind attack, then follow up with your iterative attacks on a single foe. That still sounds okay...:confused:

I did not see Improved Whirlwind. Where was it in the PHB2? (I checked feats, and didn't see it)
