Howdy all :)
For my upcoming epic game, i need 100 ideas of good and bad things that can happen to a player. I figured this would be the best way to get alot of possibilties fast :D here are some examples of what i have right now:

~-6 to attack rolls for 1 day
~Double Critical range on the current weapon you wield
~Near Sighted -10 on all spot checks
~gain +10 energy resistance to all types

i need 50 good and 50 bad and to reletively epic proportions, and any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Even if i don't use them, then some might spark so ideas :)

Thank you for looking

so....will these be given randomly or with some type of weapon? Will the players have to earn them through good roleplaying? I THINK I know where you are going with this, you probably want things like flaws and traits. There are rules for it in unearthed arcana. It has flaws such as near sighted (which is similar to yours except that -10 gives the player a HUGE disadvantage). And trates like hardy which gives you +1 on fort saves but a -1 on reflex.

Yea, i want it to be kinda like a deck of many things. Where the player chooses randomly and presto thats what they get. i didn't think of the whole gain pluses on one save but lose some to another, so thanks for giving me that. I'm gona use this kinda as a trap, so they don't know what they are getting, but its one of those things where you can draw multiple cards if your willing to take the risk of drawing a bad one.

Party passes thru zone that causes a heat metal/chill metal effect on their metal armor and weapons.Party is attacked by a flying swarm of creatures that attach themselves to your head and try to force a tube into your mouth, like the ALIEN movie, only way to avoid getting face-raped is to wear a visored helmet?Party has a map that is magically protected from being copied and will burst into flame after being removed from scroll case?RUST MONSTERS!Party is attacked by giant spiders that spray super-slick spider silk onto floor, spider can remain upright and move at normal speed(based on real spider).Party is attacked by "fart"spiders, giant spiders that eat skunk cabbage and release a gassy cloud as a defence against predators.Just some random thoughts:)

my DM used to run death dungeons, where everything could kill u. One of his ideas was a killer garden...snapdragons, tigerlilies, dandelions, etc.

lol, very creative, most just made me giggle, but i like the idea of the heat/metal effect. The scroll case thing is a neat idea as well. Thanks for you suggestions :D

i was thinking of doing something like this. like a 100 story tower and on each floor is something else that is extremely deadly and as you progress through the tower, it gets more and more difficult to overcome. But the hard part that i find is trying to make it epic. The Epic handbook doesn't even really touch base with epic traps or anything else that could be potentially deadly to an epic character (besides monsters). my party consists of 4 (sometimes 3) lvl 25 characters (actually lvl 23 gestalt..but the equivalent of lvl 25), each with about 6 million gold worth of items on top of 1 epic wonderous, 1 major wonderous, 1 medium wonderous, and 2 minor wonderous items. So the card idea was one of the few things that i thought of that could be the equivalent of an epic trap on without the possibility of someone "disarming" it because its all based on luck. If you have any suggestions about challenges for epic characters, that would be greatly appreciated as well :D
Thanks for you help HalflingVampire

Gains immunity to one energy type and vulnerabilty to another

Magic items become inert for 1d4 days

Shrunk to size fine and must battle unknown oozes (bacteria)

Must sit down for a game of cards with a table full of pit fiends, and must slowly tease information out of them while at the same time trying not to bet away their souls

Must find a way to convince a disillusioned angel to fulfill a prophecy that involves her destroying an evil artifact at the cost of her existance

babysitting a divine child

one weapon of character's choice is considered epic even if not

permanant bonus to an ability, save, important skill, natural armor, or gaining a bonus feat

getting lost in Limbo (or any largely featureless plane)

marriage proposals from the fugliest prince/princess in the land, one who's parents' co-operation is important to the PCs.
