Pierow, he hit me with a uranium sword and gave me cancer, I don't know why he didn't finish me off, but here I am, writhing in pain, suffering from a malignant tumor...

I am currently slaying Pierow's Uranium Sword (http://boards.wizards.com/showthread.php?t=657376) with my [far superior, highly advanced] Neutronium Sword, so you don't have to worry about him.

That out of the way... most evil I've encountered was a probably Fallen Angel (Ios) an NPC conjured up by the DM, not native to any particular setting (though he might have been inspired by a fictitious character, besides the obvious "Lucifer"). Him in first, followed closely a petty ex-priest who in turn followed us around from levels 3-8 (god...). I won't bother with the laundry list of details.

Sort of cliche, but forgivable, because the vilest villains often are corrupted former purists and the devoutest heroes often are redeemed criminals who've repented.

I think the best villains are the ones the DM creates himself, because he has a gauge of what his gaming group can and can't handle. WotC has no clue, so they choose to present the least offensive villains possible.

Scariest villian I've ever encountered... never encountered any real villians. There were a couple Paladins a while back that gave me a bit of a run for my money. Thought they might stop my reign of terror for a minute there - it was touch and go - but they didn't. And just to spite them - I raised their corpses as undead minions.

An evil wizard - I don't even know his name yet, but he's sent countless assasians, monsters, and a few living spells here and there after us. APPARENTLY we have something of his, but his minions keep getting away. The guys good at covering his tracks....

I got smacked by that ***er with a uranium sword too, with it's ****ing diamond infusion for strenth. That hurt a lot.

We fought a demigod handmaiden of Takhisis from the 2nd ED "Wild Elves" adventure. The plan was: get into her interdimensional prison, survive until we could climb up her spider body and pry a big magic rock out of her forehead, and run away. We had help from an owl. Who screamed. Then played dead.

Daisy, the cat of baker Barkley's daughter. Yea, the quiet white cat with the fluffy red FANGS...errr....ribbon, who hunts every night for HUMAN FLESH...I mean....mice. Daisy's even so cute that she has TORTURED...no, that's not it.... she gave a sweet look at the baker's wife to bring her fresh milk.

Now, isn't that the badass villain you were looking for?

The most evil villian i've ever faced...... :surrender

> The Wife (has ability to halt all realms for indefinate amounts of time), Can destroy whole parties with just a look, and has the ability to prevent propagation of the RPG species.

On the other hand... that same adversary has pre-approved a X-mas gift of a set of Collossal Red and Gargantuan Black dragons. (Thank you Paizo Pre-Order ) :bounce:

:cloud9:

> old 2nd edition foe.. I can't remember his name.. gave my family a lot of trouble, kidnapping my grandfather, and all that..

>Also.. Straud... Can't forget the old vamp.

Not so much one that I've encountered as one that I'm currently using as a BBEG. A Tainted Sorceror (Unearthed Arcana) that is generally as over-the-top as you can get. Her name is Elizabeth Sunspark, and she absolutely adores the irony of it. She routinely cuts off 'souvenirs' from dead enemies, kills off flunkies if they displease her, shows off the effects of the taint because she gets a kick out of seeing people repulsed, and so forth. Is it wrong that I feel sucessful and satisfied to a degree when what she does creeps out the players?

Some barbarian warlord called Egroeghsub.

The most memorable villain I ever used as a DM was named Carma the Deadly.

He was a Necromancer. When the party finally killed him, they came across his reincarnation two gaming sessions later. He had changed his name to Cormo the Corruptor. Upon defeating him, they found him reincarnated a third time as Curmu the Vicious about a month later. He just refused to stay dead. Currently, he is dead, but the next time I run a game, I suspect that he will return.

One time, I had a ogre who cocked his leg on a dead PC to assert his dominant male status with his pack while the other captured PC's watched helplessly.

OK, made that one up, but someone please use it. :D

One time our party had to convince an evil and very powerful necromancer to help us. We needed him to infuse a magic amulet with some of his power in order for us to save the world. Without his help the world would have collapsed into ruin, and he knew it too. Since it was ruin not of his making, and it would elevate another evil NPC into godhood he agreed to help us.

But only if our party of six would willingly sacrifice one of its members to him.

He didn't want to steal a soul or use a body for animation or anything like that. He simply wanted the six of us (played by six different players with no cohorts or any "extras") to agonize over which one of us would sacrifice themselves. He wanted us to have to choose only because it pleased him...

My evil stepmother. She threw out all my RPGs when I went to basic training. During 'The Great Purge' years for D&D (and largely any other RPG, nobody outside of us could tell the difference).

A doppleganger in the guise of the last surviving victim of a brutal orc attack on a town. He was actually the ring leader, but during his act of being the victim he feed us soup made of human remains and poisoned some of the party members with a paralyzing poison. And what he did with the bodies of the victims was just, well ...eeeewwww.:yuck:

Captain Jointville. Evil pirate captain responsible for smuggling slaves into the free city of Eridani.

Coolest part was, thanks to simultaneous initiative being possible in 1st edition, the group's samurai 1 on 1 with the pirate captain, KILLED (did not knock unconcious, KILLED, both beyond -10) each other on the same initiative.

I'd probably have to say Trias from the Planescape Torment crpg. Sure the incarnation of yourself was the main boss, but Trias gets all the style points in my book.

Without a doubt the most evil villain I have encountered was Strahd von Zarovich. The guy just won't die either! :banghead:

We once encountered a lich who bled people dry to fuel his power. Later, he restored himself to life by drinking from a magical drinking horn we stole...I mean valiantly recovered from the forces of evil. We had to go at his live form 3 different times before we finished him off. Also, we once met an immortal little girl who was immune to magic and kept hitting us with her fists. This was mostly annoying because we couldn't get rid of her.

It has to be this really bad wizard by the name of Arlin Grey. For the longest time we thought his was our friend and commander, Major gobel. He helpped us out alot untill he stole a bag of holding full of Magical items from us. Then I found out his wife worshipped Nerull and when I went to black mail the chump, he power word killed me. I never even new he was a wizard. Now we find out his is this Great wizard trying to transend into being god. He has a lich, Death knight, and others on his side. I can't wait to get my hands on him for killing me once. That cost me my whole fortune with a true Resserction!

I once ran a villian by the name of the Chopper; his real name was lost ages ago. He was a pyschopathic knife weilding maniac who had been the lover of a demented sorceress a century ago. The sorceress died and become a lich, and after the party intervened, she forciably revived her lover as a lich. HE was really fun to play becasue he gave me a chance to break from LE political intrgue of my normal villian. He randomly attacked the party after they said anything he considered a threat. Also, I took a little toy sword and pointed at whoever he was talking to so it looked like he was threatening them with his dagger. He eventually passed on (again) when they killed him plowing through the BBEG's palace. Good Times indeed.

Smokepole, goblin ninja. I'm regretting ever throwing kobold ninjas at my group. Now my friend has taken up the screen again, and our 1st-3rd party is literally plagued by this elusive little bastard. At least my cleric had damn good reason to take Blind-Fight. She's had enough practice with obscuring mist and a ghost-stepping goblin.
