| OD&D fan04-20-04, 05:53 PM | Here's a question for all you hard core gamers out there. What 3.0 and 3.5 D&D books have you collected? I'm a gamer from way back and I still have a nice collection of OD&D stuff from the mid-late 80s. Back then you didn't need to go and buy $1000 worth of manuels so you could feel you had access to the complete rules. I'm not a hardcore gamer anymore and my 3E collection consists of the PH, DMG, & MM. But seriously, I want to know. How extensive are people's D&D collections these days? Are there people out there who literally buy almost every accessory? What 3.0 and 3.5 books have you collected? |
| Teh Lurv04-20-04, 06:05 PM | Looking at my pile makes me realize how much cash I have dumped into this hobby over the years. :( 3e Corebooks (PHB, DMG, MM) 3.5e Corebooks Tome & Blood FRCS Monsters of Faerun Faith & Pantheons Races of Faerun Lords of Darkness Players Guide to Faerun Complete Warrior Draconomicon Unearthed Arcana AEG Swashbuckling Adventures (which I got for free) + lots of cheap D&D minis. |
| Rian Lightblade04-20-04, 06:11 PM | For D&D 3.0/3.5 I own every single WoTC 3.0 D&D Book and every 3.5 book save for the new Psi Handbook and Complete Warrior. It seems bad, but then I look at my other game collections 2ed AD&D I own every single Ravenloft book or game accessory, I also own every single Dragonlance game accessory (save for the Hardcover) and about half of the Forgotten Realms stuff, oh and every Darksun Accessory as well. I think that I have some sort of collector compulsion to complete a series of items, maybe I need counseling? |
| caeruleus04-20-04, 06:12 PM | Let's see... here's what I have: 3.0 Player's Handbook 3.0 Dungeon Master's Guide 3.0 Monster Manual 3.5 Player's Handbook 3.5 Dungeon Master's Guide 3.5 Monster Manual Psionics Handbook Expanded Psionics Handbook D&D Gazeteer Living Greyhawk Gazeteer Defenders of the Faith Tome and Blood Sword and Fist Song and Silence Masters of the Wild Stronghold Builder's Guide Oriental Adventures Manual of the Planes Deities and Demigods Epic Level Handbook Savage Species Arms and Equipment Guide Monster Manual II Fiend Folio Minatures Handbook Ghostwalk Draconomicon Book of Vile Darkness Book of Exhalted Deeds Complete Warrior Unearthed Arcana Forgotten Realms Campaign Setting Monsters of Faerun Magic of Faerun Faiths and Pantheons Races of Faerun Underdark Player's Guide to Faerun Dragonlance Campaign Setting I think that covers all of the WotC stuff I have (I won't include d20 material from other publishers). Yes, I do see myself as a collector/addict. At the same time the above collection began, I also began collecting older edition material, from the original three booklets to 2e. Draco Caeruleus |

| Drake Dragonslayer04-20-04, 06:18 PM | Kem: You win. |
| EinZweiDrei04-20-04, 09:12 PM | 3.0 PHB, DMG, MM, Tome and Blood, Sunless Citadel - all borrowed. |
| Seeker9504-20-04, 09:33 PM | Too many to list, but I do think Kem has me beat. |
| Angered Roach04-20-04, 10:45 PM | And here I thought I had quite a few books...yeesh. Before 3.5 all I owned was the PhB and FRCS, since I was never DM...but now I always am...PhB 3eD is on loan to a friend who doesn't have the 3.5 stuff...I have to correct him sometimes, but better than nothing. In order of how they're stacked right now... Dungeon Master's Guide 3.5 Player's Handbook 3.5 Monster Manual 3.5 Book Of Exalted Deeds Complete Warrior Arms & Equipment Guide Fiend Folio Forgotten Realms Campaign Setting Player's Guide To Faerun Faiths & Pantheons Silver Marches Magic Of Faerun Wishlist: Unnapproachable East Expanded Psionics Handbook Unearthed Arcana Complete Divine Ebberon Camapign Setting Draconomicon Libris Mortis (My campaigns have a habit of being undead-centric) |
| AlteredEgo04-21-04, 12:55 AM | Being a collecting fiend myself, I've got 6 bookshelves, 7ft high, 4ft long, and 1.5ft wide with 5 shelves each that contain my roleplaying library. I have one empty shelf. I'll have to dig up the inventory I did for my insurance company last year with the titles on it, but I'm pretty sure there at least a thousand or so books in there. As for the percentage of D&D specific books, including my Dragon & Dungeon Magazines, there are 12 shelves dedicated to them. Sometimes, I look in there and think...that unit could have been a Harley, that unit a home theater system, that unit...and I cry. But then I remember how much joy and fun they've brought me over the years and will continue to bring me for years to come. |
| Slyde Shadowdart04-21-04, 05:55 AM | With my discovery of the amount of money that paintball sucks from your wallet, my collection of D&D is suffering a slowdown. My 3.0/3.5 collection doesn't even begin to catch up with my 2E stuff. So far: -3.0 2x PHB DMG Fiend Folio Arms and Equipment Guide All 5 class books HBG The Sunless Citidel (adv) The Standing Stone (adv) Book of Challenges Deluxe DM's screen Psionics Handbook -3.5 PHB DMG 3.5 screen from Dragon magazine Deluxe Character Sheet folio -Campaign Specific Stuff FR Campaign setting (2 copies, one signed by all authors, my p&j :) ) FR DM's screen Underdark Lords of Darkness Faiths and Pantheons Magic of Faerun MM compendium, monsters of Faerun Silver Marches Unaproachable East (although I can't find it atm) I may be forgetting some. |
| Lord Nat04-21-04, 06:24 AM | DnD 3.5 Core Books. Unearthed Arcana Warcraft RPG (This thing rocks) D20 M core book BESM D20 Macha A start but some day I plan to own all PnP RPG books ^_^ A boy dream right. |
| Seldarin04-21-04, 09:45 AM | My collection: Player's Handbook (v3.0) Dungeon Master's Guide (v3.0) Monster Manual (v3.0) Forgotten Realms Campaign Setting Faits and Phanteons Races of Faerun Draconomicon Masters of the Wild Arms and Equipment Guide... That's it :D, but more it will be :) |
| diaglo04-21-04, 11:14 AM | i measure my collection in the thousands of lbs. weight not british sterling. ;) |
| Mywurld04-21-04, 03:26 PM | I don't feel like typing all the names of the books but between me and 3 other poeple I play with we have atleast 3 copies of every 3.0 and 3.5 book. We also have 2 complete sets of FR books, and one guy has every book since 1e and every issue of Dragon, he's a bit of a collector. I myself have a few 3.0 accessory books and all the 3.5 books and plan to buy them as they come out. Needless to say this is not something to always brag about. We have more arguements about what books we are including in our campaigns then it is worth. |
| DungeonMaster04-21-04, 03:33 PM | Kem wins, by far. Holy that is amazing! You must have at least one full bookcase. :tiphat: I personally own a whole pile of basic, 1st and 2nd edition stuff and my 3rd edition collection consists of just about every 3rd edition book except for those with the name Andy Collins on the front cover. I'm working on my forgotten realms collection even though I never play it, and never plan to. (It's just fun to read ;) ). I own no 3.5, and never will. I am most fond of my 2E spell compendiums and encyclopedia magica. |
| vejono04-21-04, 03:57 PM | I have Dragonlance Adventures ADandD, Dragonlance Campaign Setting 3e, DL 1 module, DL 3 module, DL 9-16 mini-modules and I am borrowing the ADandD players handbook(the rules are so funny). |
| LordofIllusions04-21-04, 04:14 PM | D&^*! Kem can I hold some books ? ~~~ |
| John Paul Stoddard04-21-04, 06:08 PM | I LOSE:angel: 3.0 PHB 3.5 PHB 3.5 DMG The Forge of Fury The Standing Stone The Sunless Citadel |
| Kem04-21-04, 09:00 PM | Hehe, Its about a bookcase and then some (3.0/3.5) prolly a bookcase and a fileing cabinet. However, I have another bookcase in the basement of 2e/1e books, and a few boxes of books for things I don't use/are doubles. Back when my dad was really into it he bought 2 of each book so he and my mom could have their own so I ended up putting one of each in a box because I only use one and he has all the books he wants with him (my mom doesn't play anymore). Also the only reason I had that list is I typed it up one day when trying to figure out which book was missing :) Then I found "Ultimate Equipment Guide" in my husbands backpack. Although I have gotten more selective recently in what I get so the bookcase isn't overflowing as fast :) |
| Tevish Szat04-21-04, 09:36 PM | AD&D 1e PHB & DMG (Passed down to me) DMG, PHB, and MM (3.0) MMII FF MotP FRCS Magic of Faerun Monsters of Faerun T&B S&F CW ELH Stronghold Builder's Guide Hero Builder's Guide Pool of Raidance (Module) Speaker in Dreams (Module) Creature Collection II (Sword & Sorcery) Wish List: Draconomicon Return to the Temple of Elemental Evil Song & Silence Masters of the Wild Defenders of the Faith Deities & Demigods |
| LordofIllusions04-22-04, 10:28 AM | Kem that's all good and everything, but can I hold some(books) ? ~~~ |
| Goreg Skullcrusher04-22-04, 11:28 AM | to you Kem. :) For me: 3.0 Core Rule Books Sword and Fist Tome and Blood Masters of the Wild Song and Silence Deities and Demigods Faiths and Pantheons Defenders of the Faith Monster Manual 2 Fiend Folio BoVD Savage Species 3.5 Core Rule Books Complete Warrior BoED Tons of Mini's (I swear, I'm addicted to them) And that's just WotC stuff. I don't even know where my older stuff is. I only play 3.5 games, so I have a lot of expensive placemats lying around. :D (DM sometimes steals stuff out of old 3.0 books) |
