Approximate price 10$ Different cds with dnd music of appropriate types. (Yes, this thread is a pointless time killer) |
| Candide09-23-06, 10:41 PM | there are some calculators that can generate a number randomly if given a certain parameter. Those calculators are more advanced that the everyday ones, capable of calculas/trig/etc. |
| Izodor_Shadowcaster09-24-06, 03:33 AM | 3) A book that is all about making new base classes |
| Dhavaer09-24-06, 03:36 AM | 4) A whole bunch of dungeon feature tiles, similar to Scrabble tiles but larger and thinner. So you can just arrange and rearrange them as the party moves further into the dungeon. |
| Milo HoBo09-24-06, 03:40 AM | 5. Manuver cards. 6. Vestige cards. 7. Good spell cards. Start with the Players Handbook, expand into Spell Compendium (this might take a few sets to complete). |
| KingNeo09-24-06, 03:52 AM | 8. A book with nothing but crunch and fluff about constructs 9. A book with nothing but crunch and fluff about outsiders 10. A book with nothing but crunch and fluff about plants 11. More books for psionics, with Elan prestige classes 12. More fluff for the thousands of races we already have, like say the Elan 13. Discount coupons for D&D books (not gonna happy, but a man can dream) 14. A new updated Epic Book, because what we have is just plain wrong (sorry Wizards and everyone, but you know its true) 15. A way for D&D players to play table top D&D online, not Stormreach (which is cool by the way and could work very well later) 16. A book with nothing but pictures of all the sexy...uhh beautiful women from various races that we have, wearing the bare minimum (again man can dream) 17. Another 16 but men instead for the ladies 18. A new updated book of deities and demigods (needs a serious update) 19. A better Ghostwalk book (because I think thats the most under use one to date) 20. A spell Compomedium (I know I didn't spell that right) but for psionics 21. More updates and fluff for the Warlock, Wu Jen, and other classes Wizards has created but have abandoned, or with very little. 22. Same as 21 but at least the good classes such as the Warlock 23. A competition to have classes/races we make made into official D&D stuff. |
| Myree09-24-06, 05:54 PM | The funny thing is, TSR tried some of the above suggestions already (Waveforms background gaming music, Spell Cards, magic item cards, character & monster cards (I think this is what turned into the trading card side of the game)) but it seems I may have been the only one to BUY them. BUT, I agree it is time for them to have marketing look into it again now and what could have been done better. |
| CryoSilver09-24-06, 05:57 PM | I have a bunch of those cards; my ex bought them for me for my birthday last year. 24: D&D shot glasses |
| AZNsupermarket09-24-06, 10:10 PM | 25. Complete Martial Artist 15. A way for D&D players to play table top D&D online, not Stormreach (which is cool by the way and could work very well later) Neverwinter Nights 2 is coming out at the end of october. I hear it's going to be very close to what you are asking for. 21. More updates and fluff for the Warlock, Wu Jen, and other classes Wizards has created but have abandoned, or with very little. Complete Mage is coming out with more Warlock support. |
| Silverthumb12809-24-06, 10:30 PM | 24: D&D shot glasses Score a Crit, take a shot? |
| Conspiracist09-25-06, 03:00 AM | 26. Tiamat plush doll. I want my Tiamat plushie!!! |
| BadCatMan09-25-06, 03:26 AM | 27. More Simple & Martial Double Weapons - eh, boring, I know, but I want a better quarterstaff for a guy with martial proficiency 28. Races of the Mind or something like that - for Psionic races. |
| Conspiracist09-25-06, 07:50 PM | More books?! MORE?! Why not just have WotC license their name out to a forklift company while you're at it?! We need the Tiamat plushie. Some plush doll making company can use the work, and it creates brand recognition among plush doll fans. Hey, it's working for the Lovecraft estate. It can work here too. Let's all push for that Tiamat plushie. Five headed plush dragon with each head a different color...and it's a plushie...it would be tOo KeWl!1!!1!1!!11 |
| KingNeo09-25-06, 07:51 PM | 28. Races of the Mind or something like that - for Psionic races. Definately need that one. 29. Book of the Elementals, plenty of fluff and crunch for the elementals 30. A new book of the planes (again if I've asked this one before) 31. More stuff for the incuruam (no way I spelled that right) idea. |
| Arcane_Phoenix09-25-06, 09:14 PM | 32. The return of splatbooks! 33. How to draw your character (splatbook) 34. How to make miniatures (splatbook) |
| Osedox09-25-06, 09:22 PM | 35) More 1st-20th level adventures kindof like what Piazo did with the Shackled City Adventure Path or the Age of Worms Adventure Path. |
| CryoSilver09-25-06, 09:41 PM | Score a Crit, take a shot? Cast a spell, take a shot. Roll an attack, take a shot. Buy a tindertwig take a shot... |
| claypigeons09-25-06, 10:50 PM | Cast a spell, take a shot. Roll an attack, take a shot. Buy a tindertwig take a shot... You take a shot, you take a shot. You pass out, your character dies. You puke, your character dies. Happy gaming. :evillaugh :schemes: |
| CryoSilver09-26-06, 12:31 AM | Puking is for people who can't hold their liquor, or have to drink cheap beer. That said: 36: D&D Dwarven Ale It should taste like Guinness. |
| Silverthumb12809-26-06, 01:02 AM | Cast a spell, take a shot. Roll an attack, take a shot. Buy a tindertwig take a shot... Encounter a sentient being that speaks Common, take a shot. |
| Myree09-26-06, 01:57 AM | I'm with Osedox -- more low to medium level adventures!!! Or, just retrofit some of the old standards so I don't have to! |
| Jodjod09-26-06, 03:06 AM | Future Releases, people. It's there for a reason. |
| lone_ranger_8409-26-06, 12:42 PM | Dont know what the numbering is 37. Dnd Flavored alcohol so elven spirits and dwarven ales and orcs grog. kind of what cryosilver said. |
| frasmage09-26-06, 02:11 PM | 23. A competition to have classes/races we make made into official D&D stuff. if only.... my material always gets such great reviews, but that doesn't stand for much more than a patt on the back :weep: The one reason I see them be more tentative about this though is that everyone will have read the material here and have no reason to go out and buy the book PS: why are so many people suggesting alcohol? Are we trying to build a stereotype about us all being drunkards? Seems to me soft drinks are more common.... or Mountain Dew (http://video.google.ca/videoplay?docid=-8247373439001187069&q=dungeons+and+dragons) (there are about 20 animations to this voice over) |
| Scizerus09-26-06, 07:41 PM | Encounter a sentient being that speaks Common, take a shot. Tome of Blissful Inebriation |
| stargate52509-26-06, 07:53 PM | minis of common adventurers, townsfolk, and fuzz (judges, guardsmen, etc.) minus their stat cards and anything that can make them playable with the minis game. If you're going to force us to use them, at least make affordable ones we might actually use more than once. |
| KingNeo09-26-06, 11:42 PM | 40. A D&D photoshop supplement, customized software to allow for us the players to be able to design and print characters through the use of a computer. Wouldn't be that hard because every Tiger Woods game has this so it has to be cheap nowadays. All of you know you would want this. Seriously no more having to draw if you suck at it, and you can draw/color in your character like a semi-professional? And the best thing is that this couldn't take there artwork out, since its only semi-professional. Everyone wins. |
| pmurray@bigpond.com09-27-06, 01:54 AM | I want a set of d20s with the -5 and -10 for second and third attacks built in. That way, I can roll all the atacks at once and not worry about which die is which. |
| Kargush09-27-06, 05:25 AM | Puking is for people who can't hold their liquor, or have to drink cheap beer. That said: 36: D&D Dwarven Ale It should taste like Guinness. Agreed... Tome of Quizies and Riddles Tome of Insane Quests Tome of Mad Science(for all those creator-god-wannabe magicians) |
| dragonfire897409-27-06, 12:07 PM | definately need dnd themed alcohol. when i turn twenty one (so very very soon) that's what i'd get. anyway, i agree with the quizzes book, quest book, lots of the other ones above too. just consider this post a big overarcing "SECOND" to what everyone has said. i would also by dnd soda. i'm kinda a nut for this stuff anyway more animals, dire's, magical beasts. we also need more encounters for the higher level pcs. 44)tome of monsters-ways to advance monsters with abilities (giving then new ones) and ways to create own monsters. the rest of the book is filled with new ones. more magic item and intelligent item capabilities. i love those, but i can't see it getting it's own book so.... 45)tome of treasure-lots of new things to get for treasure (new gems, art objects, lots of new items, and cool new special abilities) guidelines to screwing with treasure so the players are always wary, and always more monsters who steal, destroy, or eat treasure. this would be a thin book, but i'd love it |
| Sparkcaster09-27-06, 02:34 PM | 46) just A MMO from a real good developer and with Forgotten Realms Setting which can give feel of walking around realms and a living Faerun life to play when we cant find other friends .That will break shackles of all FR fans from other stupid mmo's |
| R9909-27-06, 04:39 PM | 47: DnD weapons, real, sharp, shiny, authentic weapons to buy over the counter and chase non-players away from your gaming table with.:duel: :smirk: :twitch:  and more smileys, many more smileys. |
| LostPassWordDoesNotWork09-27-06, 06:15 PM | Tome of Construct Creation. :plotting: Planeswalkers & "arcane" ranks. Whould should a sorcerer/wizard gain a devine rank? The Prestige Class Compendium (comes with most "new" base classes aswell) Print buttons on all WOTC computers replaced with a "post at forums for playtest" button. :D A real sorcerer fix. I am sick of seeing feats pretending to fix the "worthless" class. Just admit the class it's self neds a change and fix the d**n thing already. Errata on arcane thiesis so I don't have to see l33t metamgic combos where you cast a persistant empowered maximized twined repeated split ray <more crap here> Time Stop that deals 5d4+15d6++2d10+256 and bestows 4 curses and mummy rot at the cost of a 3rd level slot. And to send out a 5,000,000 dollor "in store cedit" coupon to me. |
| Magus Gar Kan09-27-06, 06:46 PM | There actually is a DnD music CD "Official Roleplaying soundtrack", I have it, its good.:dancin: :fight!: :dancin: |
| Scizerus09-28-06, 03:20 AM | 44)tome of monsters-ways to advance monsters with abilities (giving then new ones) and ways to create own monsters. the rest of the book is filled with new ones. Savage Species? |
| BigMongo09-28-06, 09:04 AM | I really like the Treasure Compendium. There could be a section on making magic items. A section on creating artifacts. They could bring all the old treasure in and include some new ones. Also they would provide really really nice treasure tables. Something to keep those Orc Captains from having a bunch of scrolls, or divine caster enemies from having arcane only items. It is just a little pissy to open their treasure chest and find a bunch of things they wouldn't use and obviously wouldn't keep. I once rolled when a theif was sneaking around in a pacifist's house. He had 3 magic weapons in his chest. I had to reroll all of them. But enough of that. Onto my suggestions. 55. Tome of Treacherous Dungeon Features. This would include traps, puzzle rooms, and the like that you would just throw into your dungeon. 56. Any books that make it easier on the DM. |
| frasmage09-28-06, 10:52 AM | 56. Any books that make it easier on the DM. DMG2? That has tons of tips for DMing |
| Wyrm_Pilot09-28-06, 01:23 PM | There actually is a DnD music CD "Official Roleplaying soundtrack", I have it, its good. The actual title is Dungeons & Dragons - Official Roleplaying Soundtrack, by Midnight Syndicate, released 8/12/03. Amazon (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0000BZYIS/104-9671178-0483164?ie=UTF8) has it for $14.99, with some of their outside vendors listing it under $10. Cheers, Wyrm Pilot ____________________ I know this music. | Troy81209-28-06, 02:25 PM | What they need is... mmmm... a D&D ROAD TRIP, where all of the “big wiz-es” at Wizards would tour around the country in a giant RV or caravan. They could stop at different cities, give out swag, advice and talk to gamers about gamin’. Who knows they could even run a game or two. Perhaps they could even have a “live dungeon” packed away in there. :) Think of it like a concert. They could spend 6 months touring around the country. Then they could go back to Renton and write. Surely inspired...mmm by what they saw and encountered out here. For us... we could quit our jobs ... drop out and ... become D&D heads following the bus around the country! T |
| Yukon Cornelius09-28-06, 03:40 PM | 57: Animated holographic minis |
| Cryforge09-28-06, 04:38 PM | 58. A Monster Manual V that uses what Monster Manual IV got right and completely gets rid of everything that Monster Manual IV got wrong. 59. Packs of miniatures like "goblin army" or "orc stronghold" so that we don't need to buy fifty packs of minis to get a single encounter's worth of gobbies. |
| bansheeman09-28-06, 07:19 PM | 59. Packs of miniatures like "goblin army" or "orc stronghold" so that we don't need to buy fifty packs of minis to get a single encounter's worth of gobbies. this is one of the best ideas ive heard, it annoys me everytime i open a pack. "yay, one monster that i can use, and 9 other obscure ones." |
| wal900009-28-06, 07:43 PM | 55. Tome of Treacherous Dungeon Features. This would include traps, puzzle rooms, and the like that you would just throw into your dungeon. The Book of Challenges may not be exactly what you want, but I think it's got some of that. I wouldn't know, since I don't own it, but Amazon lets you search inside it if you have an account. Probably worth a look. 56. Any books that make it easier on the DM. Wasn't that the goal of the DMG2? |
| Maull09-28-06, 08:18 PM | 60. A D&D tie I can wear to work, subtle but unique. Or not so subtle, a bastard sword tie!:D |
| anubisvandal09-28-06, 08:31 PM | I'm going to put my vote in for the "Encounter Pack" idea. I say go ahead and include stat cards to make them usefull for DnD Mineature games. The fact that anyone can buy the Encounter Pack ballances rarity issues, plus it would be easy to ban them from "Official Tournaments". But having a mini's game that concerns a drow raid, or a battle that starts in the middle of a village would be cool. I want them for my tabletop games. "Drow Raiding Party" "Orc Hord" "Kobold Lair" "Villagers (complete with magistrate, town guards, and village idiot)" Include a map, a sample encounter, and a piece of terain (Alter for the Necromancer's Dungeon filled with skeletons, Broken Wagon for the Stranded Caravan besieged by hobgoblins). Wizards could get away with charging $35-$50 depending on the size of the encounter. And of course they'd be limited edition... |
| freeholder09-28-06, 08:43 PM | More kobolb minatures A DND mmo that allows player to characterize their own demi planes that they rule suprem on, equvilent of making NWN mod. A book that teachs people how to apply DND rules to supplements made of entirly new or previously thought up ideas eaisly. EG. The book would allow a DM to with only a couple intense weeks of work to create DND in a starcraft setting. Possibilities for ideas would be endless. |
| dragonfire897409-29-06, 12:35 AM | does savage species really do much? i know it's got lots of feats and things that can be kinda broken, but i was looking for a good guide to making monsters more challenging, raising hd, more sq and sa, and a guide to how powerful such abilities get. always have to playtest to get crs so i don't want a cr section, just ideas for advancing monsters. maybe i need a tomb of templates or some such stuff. although it'd get ridiculous to get a fire/air/celestial/anarchic direwolf with 13 hd. maybe i just need to look over the elite opponents article, they got lots of goodness there. |
| Respen09-29-06, 12:54 AM | I'm going old school here, but I think a revised and updated version of The Encyclopaedia Magica would be extremely useful. Also, a new version of The Book of Artifacts, and I mean actual artifacts not relics of legacy weapons. |
| Victor_Ograygor09-29-06, 08:50 AM | Player´s in forgotten realms realy need a vollo´s guide to selgaunt ordulin and so on. Whey are ther a vollo´s guide to Balurs gate 2 and noot a vollo´s guide ti balurs gate 1? |
| Ut-Napishtim09-29-06, 08:58 AM | 10. A book with nothing but crunch and fluff about plants I would probably pick this one up. My wife's currently playing a Ranger with Plants as her favored enemy. That's caused me to look through the monster book to try and throw in some plant encounters from time to time, and I have to say the pickings are pretty slim. There are tons of monsters and even supplements for Outsiders, Undead, and Abberations, but nothing for the poor Plants. I second this notion! :w00t: |
| Anung_Un_Rama09-29-06, 04:25 PM | Collosal Bahamut and Tiamat minis (maxi minis?) |

| slinker09-30-06, 01:51 AM | no idea what number this actually is, but #61 off the last numbering... As a martial artist myself, i'd love to see some more realism (yes, i KNOW it's a fantasy RPG) in terms of strikes, grapples and such. "You strike the necromancer a might blow with your warhammer/longsword/ki strike for 13 damage" (let's say you're at level 5, so 13 is no small amount). There's no way 100% of your strikes have no crippling effect, like broken arms, ruptured organs, or internal hemorrhaging. Ouch. Also, monks would be a hell of a lot more interesting if they could achieve pins and joint locks rather than just flurry-of-blows-esque bludgeoning wannabe damage. Stances and maneuvers seem to address this to some extent, but...(4.0 anyone?) i guess this turned into less of something they should MAKE and more something they should DO. oh well. -slinker |

| vincentnoiseux10-01-06, 08:02 PM | I'm asking for a book not with only the names and the quick description for the feats, but a book with a complete description of the feats with the prerequisites, not only a "list", a complete "compendium" in a book form (though the web site you mention is a good start) |
| Lotharilflaaga10-02-06, 06:20 PM | A book of famous NPCs. Should include the wizards that have their names attached to spells and various baddies tha are mentioned in other books like Moloch and the Queen of Chaos. A book of obscure groups like the Wind Dukes of Aaqa. Spelljammer stuff. |
| Myree10-11-06, 12:56 AM | Actually, Lotharilflaaga, they had this out back in the Old TSR days too -- early 1980's, if I remember right. It was called "Rogues Gallery" and included Bigby, Mordekein, Tenser, and all the other greats of the old Greyhawk days. It even included the first time I ever saw a published version of a Lizardman as a Paladin (OK, he had been reincarnated, but it still was a proto-type to what some people take for granted these days). Some could also say that the Collector's Cards served some of the same purposes. But, as I said in my last "been done before" post, I also WHOLEHEARTEDLY agree that it is about time to reincarnate and update this gem (both gems, really)! As a DM, this kind of tool makes it a lot easier for me to add some color to the campaign and consistancy to what the players may have gotten from other sources. For that matter, at the cost of sounding redundant all over again ;-), I repeat that it would be GREAT if they revamped a lot of the old TSR modules the same way -- enough "Complete" books, already to confuse more people with all the variations I'd rather come up with ourselves -- give me a dungeon I can dump the party in and run with just a little customization while I work on fleshing out the rest of the campaign! |

| Milo HoBo10-12-06, 07:44 PM | A book completely devoted to readjusting the traditional magic system (vancian) to an augmentable spell point system that is as well done as psionics. I'd want full transparency (between psionics and traditional) to mean exactly that. That way psionics can have more material without waiting for WotC to give psionics more. |

I dream of the day that I can walk into my local gamestore and see a wall of boxes, each one with a different race or archtypial group of foes on the front, and just buy them. I love wood elves, I think I would pee my pants if there were three or four different packs with wood elven miniatures in them. I would probably buy five of each (literally), even if they cost $35 each. |
| Articman10-27-06, 01:37 PM | The need to make Miniture Army sets out of mini's. Like a undead leigon, or an Orc Amy. Stuff like this will sell. Also try group sets like villagers, or Aboritions. |
| Troy81210-27-06, 02:18 PM | I would like to see some minis for spell effects... the new small fire elemental makes a decent Flaming Sphere, but what I want are things like... Black Tentacles, Bigby's "X", even a clear plastic “Invisible” Stalker. :D If it they HAVE to be for the minis game, I guess they could always refer to them as one of Eberron’s “living spells.” T |

| thasis10-29-06, 02:40 AM | What they need is... mmmm... a D&D ROAD TRIP, where all of the “big wiz-es” at Wizards would tour around the country in a giant RV or caravan. T Dude, that'd be a reality TV show that doesn't suck. I'd so promote this!!! :D |
