| sinrae_kinesti01-03-07, 03:03 AM | I'll start this off because i have a few ideas for some cool cities. be sure to include how they are created if the location is extremely exotic location. Andromapolis story of it's conception Korvin Lextalinus, one of the founders of the vilest Wizard's guild the world had ever seen, made a grab for power attempting to seize the reigns of the organization, But failed. As he tried to teleport away the spells of his former comrades mixed with his own magic and scrubbed his memories back to an adolescent age. Over time he began to regain his memory and knowledge of spellcasting but what he saw in his own mind disgusted him. In order to never be associated with his past he named himself Letherebus (which is derived from greek, Letho meaning forgotten, and Erebus meaning nether darkness) and vowed to undo the darkness he helped to create. after sufficient memories of his spellcasting returned he began scrying out for a suitable base of operations when an idea struck him, asteroids. turning his scrying toward the blackness of space for many months he found what he was looking for. he made careful observations and plotted out a way to make his dream a reality. he studied the effects of vacuum and how to counteract it with his still limited magic and eventualy he teleported himself and three companions to the asteroid. using a bottles of air to breath he cast a wall of ice from a scroll to put a dome over them as his druidic companion used his knowledge of nature change the rock at their feet into mud and the four of them coated the dome with the sticky mud when they had finished their was enough air from their exhalations to breathe without the aid of the bottles. It took many trips to the asteroid and a fair amount of luck but over time Letherebus had designed and constructed an Intricate Tunnel system and had begun plans for a surface community. Through the use of Wish he established Normal gravity and a stable orbit around the sun and even spun the asteroid so that it had night and day of comparable lengths to the Planet. Eventually He and his followers began spreading upward creating a mighty tower standing 1,500 feet He constructed Nodes of power that emanated walls of force over great distance, these nodes enclosed an dome of 3000 feet diameter so that his he and his followers coud walk about on the surface of the asteroid without the use of specialy designed magic. His druid friend coaxed trees to grow so that a miniature ecosystem could maintain the breathable atmosphere. At It's current stage in development Andromapolis is capable of supporting thousands 10,000 in the tunnels below 3,000 in the tower and 6,000 in the city. the city has eight massive green houses to support its population which are carefully tended by druids and herbalists and their are planns to expand further to create miniature forests. Despite the fact Letherebus failed to undo his great evil he is now equally renowned for his good works as Korvin was renowned for his evil. |

| ragoftag01-05-07, 02:14 PM | Clifftown Ancient Elf City that spanned a great canyon waterfall. Destroyed during an ancient war (perils of being neutral) and abandoned by the elves. Much of the city remains, as permanent spells reinforced the construction, but vital chunks were destroyed, preventing its safe use. There are a lot of caves in the primary cliff face that have been settled by various folks who relish the sight of the destroyed city enough to put up with the inconveniences. Several 'archeologists' probe for lost knowledge in the ruins and the rubble far below. What none of the 'residents' realize is that the city 'repairs' itself a bit each day at dawn, constantly changing its layout, 'reweaving' its essence a little bit at a time. |

| JasonOrlandoHawk01-06-07, 12:29 AM | A city that travels from one plane to another at certain intervals, or upon certain conditions. The living conditions of the city always remain about the same (temp., apparent weather, etc...) but the surroundings vary greatly from month to month and year to year. |
| Lokiyn01-06-07, 12:45 AM | The City of Dreams. The City of Dreams was built in the Dreamscape of a slumbering Dragon. hibernating for eons the City has grown and hosts over 50 thousand individuals. Care is made however, to never mention to the Dragons dreamself that he is in a dream. His wishes are catered to and as long as he is happy the city experiences pleasent weather and prosperity. |
| sinrae_kinesti01-06-07, 12:46 AM | City Of City Constructed by an insane Trio consisting of a mighty wizard an evil cleric of death and a druid of balance, it is shaped like a six pointed star. constructed from magical walls of stone and master masonry the city was raised to float a mile over a massive desert. beneath the city is greater druids grove. the city slowly turns on an axis. the city is overall neutral but was designed to polarize and segregate the alignments so clerics of all faiths are welcome, except Pelor whom the designers of the city hate for unknown reasons. |
