1001 Fantasy Herbs [Archive] - Wizards Community

05-11-07, 02:59 PM Sometimes you need an explanation for alchemical ingredients, or a druid wants to collect herbs for infusions (Masters of the Wild), or you want to explain what potions are actually made of, you need a list of herbs.

Obviously, not all DMs are herbalists (or architects, or combat buffs, etc etc.) and we can't be experts on everything, and face it, it sometimes feels like you have to be to make things seem realistic.

Well, I've been looking for a good list of fantasy herbs, I have plenty of lists of regular herbs that actually exist, and I thought it would be a good 1001 thread!

So, let's get this going. Come up with fantastical herbs, or list ones you are familiar with!

So yeah, sorry if I double listed them from below, but I'm not going to double check it all.

Quite a good list, I know some of them are real, and some are fantasy herbs, but there are a few that are difficult to say. Either way, they can all be real in your campaign world, so it hardly matters! :D

05-11-07, 03:40 PM Are you looking for just the names of the ingredients, or more information about them. I personally would love to see a compilation of herbs that have information associated with each one. And I'm not just going to mooch either, I'd help.

This has more than just herbs, this is about practically any plant (edible, usefull, or poisonous) that you can think of.
