| Darkxarth05-14-06, 08:22 PM | Ah, this is more my speed, though weapons are really my best... thing. EDIT: Question, what about magical staves and rods, non-combat ones. Like, not a +4/+4 Quarterstaff that can shoot Fireballs, but maybe the Staff of Earth and Stone. I have a couple of those, they aren't weapons, but they have combat powers. I.E. Shooting Fireballs, etc. |
| buddy403105-14-06, 08:49 PM | this compatition is not one for attacking items, it is for the granting of abilitys adn stat raisers, such as the tongue you made, which i think should go here. |
| Darkxarth05-14-06, 08:54 PM | Can do. Deathspeaker- Major Artifact Deathspeaker is an ancient, evil Artifact. Thankfully, in order to use it, one must cut out one's tongue, and have Deathspeaker attached. It is a black, smooth, shiny metallic material, but when it is attached to a tongue-stump, it moves as easily as a normal tongue does. It is crafted to fit a Medium creature, but can extend, split, grow, shrink, etc. to fit in the mouth of any being with a tongue. Once Deathspeaker is attached, it grants many powers. - User can speak Infernal and Abyssal - Magic Mouth at will - Tongues 4/day - Power Word: Blind 3/day - Power Word: Stun 2/day - Blasphemy 2/day - Power Word: Kill 1/day There we go, now to replace Deathspeaker in the other thread. |

| Darkxarth05-16-06, 02:57 PM | I hate winning by default. Oh well, better than losing by default. Arcane Quill This appears to be the feather of a Griffon, turned into a quill. While writing with the Arcane Quill, the user can cast the following spells: - Arcane Mark at will - Erase at will - Illusory Script 3/day - Secret Page 3/day |
| Bob_The_Wizard05-16-06, 09:44 PM | The Bag of Bag of Holding Holding This acts like a bag of holding, except that it can hold a bag of holding or a portable hole, and any normal items put into it disappear forever. Sorry, I couldn't resist! :D Serously, though: These items were created by a powerful cryomancer, now long dead. Staff of the Uttercold This staff is about four feet long, made of solid blue ice that's as hard as iron, with a vein of frozen blood down the center. The ice never melts, and the temperature within five feet stays at about -30 degrees F, causing frost to form on most surfaces that the wielder is near. The cold puts out nonmagical fires and torches that come within five feet. This staff deals 1d6 points of cold damage to everyone that touches it, including the wielder (though the cold resistance granted by the staff negates this.) The staff is sharp as a razor at one end, allowing it to be used as a +2 javelin. It grants cold resistance 10 to the wielder. It has the following powers: - 1/day: Delayed Blast Coldball (like fireball, except with cold damage), Globe of Invlnerability (fire spells/effects only) - 2/day Cone of Cold, Flesh to Ice, Freeze Armor, Wall of Ice - 3/day Coldball, Ice Knife, Orb of Cold. When wielded by a creature that also wears the Robe of the Uttercold, the cold resistance increases to 20. The staff bestows one negative level on any creature handling or using it that does not have the Lord of the Uttercold feat. While this never results in actual level loss, it cannot be overcome in any way, including restoration spells, while the staff is in the creature's posession. Robe of the Uttercold This robe is pure white, and glistens as though coated in frost (it is). It has icy blue trim, embroidered with snowflake patterns. It emits an aura of incredible supernatural cold, causing the temperature to drop to about -80 degrees F in the wearer's space. Anyone touching or wearing the robe takes 1d3 points of cold damage per round, though because of the robe's granting of cold resistance 5, the wearer takes no damage. The robe grants +6 to AC, as the Greater Mage Armor spell, and anyone attacking the werarer unarmed or with natural weapons takes 1d6 damage from a small burst of ice. When the wearer also wields the Staff of the Uttercold, the cold resistance increases to +20. The robe bestows one negative level on any creature handling or using it that does not have the Lord of the Uttercold feat. While this never results in actual level loss, it cannot be overcome in any way, including restoration spells, while the robe is in the creature's posession. Both items grant resistance to the efects of extreme cold environments. The robe is the only one I'm sbmitting, but the two go together so much I had to include the staff too. |
| buddy403105-16-06, 11:07 PM | the winner is bob the wizard with the robe of utter cold |

| Chaotis05-20-06, 03:25 PM | Hmm... Planar Seeds- Minor Artifact Planar seeds can be planted on any demiplane made by the Genesis spell(one per demiplane). Once planted, the planar plant grows, and the demiplane grows with it. This makes the demiplane grow as if Genesis had been cast again(to make the plane grow larger) each week. It constantly grows, and with it, vegetation grows on the surface of the demiplane. It also gives the plane an alignment, which is mild until the plane grows for 1 year, when it becomes strong. Depending on the alignment, the plant must be watered with Holy water(if alignment is Good), Unholy Water(Evil), Axiomatic Water(Lawful, see spell compendium), or Anarchic Water(Chaos, also see spell compendium. The alignment trait is the same as the trait of the character who plants the seed. If the alignment of the character has no neutral component, the process is altered: the plane starts with the mild Good-Evil axis part of the character, then, after the trait becomes strong, it starts with the mild Chaos-Law axis part of the character. |
| buddy403105-22-06, 05:23 PM | time to present the winner now, the winner is chaotis with the planar seeds. |
| Darkxarth05-23-06, 12:42 AM | Yeah... saw that coming. Anywho... Circlet of Light- The Circlet of Light is a powerful magic item of healing. It is a silver circlet with slender, golden spikes sprouting from all around it. When worn, it grants the following powers. - Light at will - Cure Serious Wounds (3d8+15) 5/day - Cure Critical Wounds (4d8+20) 2/day - Heal (15th level caster) 2/day - Mass Cure Light Wounds (1d8+5) 2/day - Resurrection 1/day The Circlet of Light was crafted by a Planetar Cleric of Pelor. He made it in order to help further his goal, to heal the multiverse. |
| Stumm_Dolch05-23-06, 09:49 AM | We've used these items in our campaigns many times. They are cheap and easy for a young cleric with the Craft wonderous items feat. Vest of Second Chances: This apparently mundane article of clothing is worn as any other vest - Under armor, or over general clothing, it is enchanted with a single spell trigger that activates a Cure Moderate Wounds when it's wearer hits the floor. ((the single-use, spell triggered effect allows it to be made cheaply and thus can be greatly appreciated by lower level characters, just have to be careful not to accidentally activate it by tripping on a root)) |
| buddy403105-23-06, 09:22 PM | now to pronounce the winner. the winner is stumm dolch with the vest of second chances |
| Darkxarth05-23-06, 10:36 PM | Dang, I knew that would win. Man, that stinks. Oh well, here we go again. Shield of the Elements- The Shield of the Elements is a +4 Large Mithral Shield. The front of the Shield is divided into four sections, each one relating to a different Elemental Plane. On the back of the Shield are five arcane runes. They say Air, Fire, Water, Earth, and Shield, in Auran, Ignan, Auqan, Terran, and Common, respectively. Speaking the runes activates that rune, granting the Shield extra powers. Fire Mode - Grants Fire Resistance 10 - Fire Shield 2/day - Wall of Fire 1/day Earth Mode - Grants Damage Reduction 10/- - Passwall 2/day - Wall of Stone 1/day Air Mode - Grants Lightning Resistance 10 - Wind Walk 2/day - Wind Wall 1/day Water Mode - Grants Cold Resistance 10 - Water Walk 2/day - Wall of Ice 1/day Normal (Shield) Mode - Cold Resistance 3 - Fire Resistance 3 - Lightning Resistance 3 - Damage Reduction 3/- This kind of goes with the Elemental Helm. There is a third item, the Elemental Trident, that completes the set, but it's a weapon, and it isn't that detailed. |
| Tusalu05-24-06, 12:46 PM | Shield of Supplies +2 Darkwood Tower Shield. This shield has a small hatch on the inner side. If opened a 1x1x1x1 ft bag-of-holding-style room appears. When opened a small item is there. 1 If the wielder is injured, a potion of cure light wounds appears. 2 If the wielder is in combat, a potion of mage armor appears. 3 If the wielder is hungry, a trail ration appears. 4 If the wielder is thirsty, a full waterskin appears. 5 If the wielder is in a place without illumination, a sunrod appears. 6 If the wielder is inside a building, a mug of ale appears. 7 If the wielder is outside, a dagger appears. If the wielder is in more of the above situations the first mentioned item will be there. (For example if the wielder is in combat in a house a potion of cure light wounds appears) After one minute the item disappears. Only three times a day an item will appear. |
| buddy403105-25-06, 09:31 PM | hmmmm, this is a tough one. i'll have to say the winner is darkxarth with the shield of the elements |
| Darkxarth05-26-06, 12:14 AM | Yes! I was sure I'd lose that one, awesome that I won it! Here's another one. Cape of Eternal Darkness Major Artifact Cape of Eternal Darkness is a black cape with a skull brooch that radiates extreme evil. If the wearer of this cape is evil, it grants several magical effects. · Detect Good at will · Unholy Aura continuous · Unholy Word 3/day · Blasphemy 3/day · Finger of Death 2/week The first time that the owner dons the Cape of Eternal Darkness she must make a Will save (DC 30) or immediately become Neutral Evil. Anyone who touches the Cape of Eternal Darkness immediately recognizes that it is a powerful evil item. The Cape was created by the God of Darkness thousands upon thousands of years ago, for his greatest champion, a half-Mindflayer/half-Drow Sorcerer Lich, Gorrishel. Gorrishel wore the Cape of Eternal Darkness in his epic battle against Narriet, the Champion of the God of Light. This battle raged on for days, Gorrishel relentlessly blasting Narriet with magic, while she pummeled him with holy blows. On and on they battled, neither one gaining nor losing ground. Until, finally, Narriet was slain by Gorrishel, and the God of Light was imprisoned by the God of Darkness. After this battle, an era of evil and darkness ensued for ten thousand years. |
