Toran_A_Sunder 12-15-07, 01:55 AM	So I'm at work today, in the mall, and I'm walking back from the food court after grabbing some grub. I see a kiosk just outside the food court, a new one. Its some energy drink. Some new herbal energy supplement. Its green. It's called something like "New Green Tea HP!" :thinks: So what do I think automatically? :lightbulb Green Tea HP? HP means hit points. Hmmm......Herbal enhancer called with HP in its label. POTION OF CURE LIGHT WOUNDS! :facepalm: Yup. I think it only really served to clarify just how much of a D&D geek I am. Not that there's a problem with that. And it certainly wasnt the first time something like that happened. But still.... In either case, I got to thinking. What kinds of mundane, none D&D, heck, non fantasy/sci-fi things make or have made my fellow board members think game?

Kayla_Silverhand 12-16-07, 04:02 AM	I can't watch any movie or TV show, and frankly some commercials where my husband does't make remarks about "well, he failed his save" or "damn, thats a D10 weapon" and my favorite "honey what would my stats be as a character?" The really sad thing is that it's RUBBING OFF ON ME!

Martin_the_Warrior 12-29-07, 01:38 AM	Our nerd distress call is "CRITICAL MISS!!! CRITICAL MISS!!!" And whenever I feel threatened or bored, I start planning escape routes and battle plans. And *hangs head* I make mock swings at coworkers with the different utensils we use at work...... or sneak behind someone and say "sneak attack! +d6!"..... or yell, "unarmed strike! take 2 nonlethal!" And even worse...... I have found that whenever I look at someone, I start thinking to myself "Hm.... maybe a 12 STR, 14 CHA, 8 DEX....." Haha. We are hopeless.

Prismatic_Bard 12-30-07, 01:30 PM	Let me think, I know I've got a couple... There's this cat around my neighborhood whom I have nicknamed "the Dire Kitty". This is actually a really good name; Not only is this cat freakishly huge, it literally beats the snot out of any raccoons it sees. Normally, a raccoon could easily kill and eat a cat, but not the Dire Kitty. Once he shows up, the raccoons start running. Coincidentally, the raccoon population has been slowly declining... I wrote "Boots of Whoop*** +5" on my boots :D I wear armor under my clothes. 'Cause I think it's cool, and it's nice for when I'm having a seriously klutzy moment and bumping in to stuff and falling down a lot. In case you're wondering, it's modelled after Fierce Deity Link's from the Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask. So it has nothing to do with D&D :P I'll put some more in later.

M1kh43l_P4r4d1s0 01-01-08, 01:46 AM	Evereytime I do someting stopid, my old gaming buddies would say that I don't have intelligence as a class skill. the joke is that I played an elven druid once, and the DM told me to make a Knowledge (arcana) check. I told him I don't have that skill. So he told me to make an intelligence check. Thinking (for some reason) that he just repeated himself, I angrily replied, "I don't have that skill!" so yeah.
nevered2 01-01-08, 02:18 AM	I like watching kung-fu movies and trying to translate it all into DnD trminology. You know how the fights always go back and forth, with the combatants taking turns giving eachother five punches or so at a time? those are combat rounds, and Trying to figure out what kind of skills/feats they have (man, he must have max ranks in balance) Also, in the princess bride, whn inigo takes the knife to the chest (Critical hit!) and drops bleeding (-1 hp), stands up again and begins an attack (the diehard feat) before chanting his "you killed my father" mantra (circumstance bonus to intimidate check) That scene is literally perfect for DnD rules. you can even see him stumble each time he fails to stabalize that round and loses another hitpoint. [dit] sorry, the e key is braking on this laptop

NecroticBanana 01-02-08, 04:04 AM	lol jeez, when dont i think of d&d, sometimes i gotta open my d20 modern books just to take a break from d&d lol. but what reminds me most is that i resemble a dwarf, i'm short, stocky,bearded, gruff, pissy and serious, all my friends make that obsevervation. and here lately i've been proving my racial "stability" ability by easily walking over the ice, while all my friends are practically crawling across it lol. (i rarely ever slip, stumble maybe but never fall)
