17. Guilo Fissio (Human ranger 12)
Guilo was my first character ever. He was bald and ugly as hell (I used charisma as dump stat) but still had a huge ego. He was also extremely greedy when it came to sharing loot. But he was also the unchallenged king of ranged combat in our party back then and also was the one to actually notice the enemies before it was too late with his pimped-out spot skill and Eyes of the Eagle. Retired.

18. Respen Lanshanakiir (Half-elf bard/harper scout something/something)
My second character, this time in FR. Respen was the face of the party but due to my nonexistant skills in character optimizing he was nearly useless in combat. I actually got really tired of playing him because it got to the point where I was the only one actually interested in role playing my character; the other players just wanted to kill stuff. Now lying stone dead in some bizarre demiplane where he and his companions were killed by an epic wizard, ending the campaign.

19. Akeley (Human conjurer 11/alienist 10/pseudonatural transcendentalist 8)
Still playing this somewhat insane character and enjoying every second of it. When he's not adventuring around the planes with his friends he can be found in his castle in his own little chaotic demiplane.

There have been others, but I never played any of them more than a few sessions, so there's not much to say about them.

20. Siegfried (Human Paladin 6)
My favorite character of all time, Siegfried's personality is noble and chivalrous. He was in very good physical condition, was wise, and had very high charisma, so I played him like a valiant knight in shining armor, riding into battle with no fear atop his mighty warhorse. We played with reputation scores for that campaign, and Siegfried ended up being very popular throughout the lands (and tons of fun to roleplay). His weapon was a +1 holy keen longsword that shed light in a 10' radius, and on the blade was an inscription in celestial (I forget what it said, this is an older character) and his mount was a celestial heavy warhorse named Equestrious. He also had Mithral Full Plate Mail and a steel large shield with a holy symbol engraved on it.

21. Roderick (Human MC Ranger 1/Archer 1)
Roderick was from a campaign that never really got going, so I want to remake this character in a future group. This was before 3.5 and the dm used a lot of house rules, so I was a multiclass monty-cook ranger and archer (which was a modified fighter) The flavor worked out perfectly and if I leveled I would continue to progress as an archer, and it would be very smooth and logical as the character developed. He wore a brown hooded cloak, his arrows and mighty composite longbow strewn over his shoulder and a longsword at his belt, with a light, stubbley beard that was not well-maintained. He was very secretive and introverted, the kind of traveller that would sit alone at the back of a tavern with his feet propped up on a table smoking his pipe.

22. Sir Frederick (Paladin 10)
This is my most recent character, it's for a very light roleplaying game (mostly hack and slash) and it's a smiting paladin, uses divine might and extra smiting, right now I think it has 4 smites/day and 7 turn undead attempts (18 charisma, I activate divine might and smite twice in 1 round against very evil creatures, it's kinda cool, one round I had divine might up and I scored a critical hit with my first smite, hit with the second smite, and killed the BBEG in the same round. I'm thinking about multiclassing templar with this one. I'd like to try this kind of character with a group that has more of a focus on roleplaying- a zealous crusader whose judgement is sometimes clouded by anger and vengeance for those who have been wronged.

If I ever DM I'm going to make a similar NPC like this except more extreme, he will succumb to anger and vengeance as he forgets his true purpose as a paladin and actually begins to hate those who are evil, slaughtering an entire town of lawful evil alignment at war with his country after they captured and killed his lord on a diplomatic mission. He is turned by an evil archmage and becomes a blackguard and a recurring enemy of the PC's. I'd have a full story prepared if they start trying to learn about him, or maybe a response to a succesful legend lore of a PC or an NPC diviner or wizard. He would be evil, but would remain a noble.

23. Hrothgar (Human Barbarian/Frenzied Beserker)
I was inspired to make this character after reading Beowulf, enough said.

24. Elggur Velkyn (Drow Fighter 4, used double bladed sword)
I was surfing the web and found this nifty little drow language translater, and his name meeans Unseen Slayer or something like that, i fiddled around with stealthy fighterish words until it sounded cool. Basically, he's a dextrous fighter with ranks in tumble, hide, listen, spot, and move silently who is going the two weapon-fighting route specializing in the double-bladed sword. The DM let me downgrade to a d8 hit die to get those skills as class skills and switch from fortitude-heavy to reflex-heavy saving throws. I always like it when I'm allowed to customize my characters like this and I had a blast roleplaying this one.

25. Milo Bigsby (Halfling Rogue)
This character was fun to play, but a little to stereotypical for me (the only stereotypical character I really enjoyed playing was Siegfried, and even he was very different than the typical knight in shining armor who saves the damsel in distress and lives happily ever after) The cool thing about Milo was that his weapon of choise was alchemist's fire- he always bought it and produced it and would dual wield potions, he had point blank shot, rapid shot, shot on the run etc. and could really let fly when he needed to.

26. Renis, Greyhawk; Elven Cleric of Fharlaghn 5. Fate:Mindwiped slave.
27. Nived Devril, Forgotten Realms; Gnomish Druid 14. Fate: Happily retired national hero.
28. Atolm Renz, Forgotten Realms; Gnomish Illusionist 6. Fate: Probably died of exposure in the annorach desert (where we were last before that campaign was left unfinnished)
29. Daggerfoot 'Dag', Forgotten Realms; Gnomsih Cleric of Baravar Cloakshadow 3. Fate: Faded into obsurity.
30. Marcus Clerval, Ravenloft; Human Avenger (CG varient paladin) 6. Fate: Leading the resistance movement against his LE blackgaurd brother.
31. Noc, Ebberron; Changeling Monk 6. Fate: Tooling around Sharn.
32. Konrad Half-Elven, Dragonlance; Half-Elven (duh) Sorcerer 2. Fate: Left hanging.

You may notice most of my PCs are low level... that's because I'm the only DM in my group that can plan and maintain a long term campaign.
Vengeblade

01-10-05, 05:42 AM
1.Vengeblade Stormheart(Half gold dragon/ftr7/planar champion10)
He was a small town hero until an NPC I helped the DM create for background killed his fiance. Chased him all over the cosmology to avenge his lover.
2.Malek Blackheart(Half Black dragon/ftr10/blackgaurd10)
the evil npc that killed vengeblade's fiance.
3.Kret'cho dun(thri-kreen/Ranger16/Dervish10/shadowdancer10)
This was the guy that showed up when players cheated and scared the crap out of them, made him fight some other friends high level chars. I sometimes just call him the thunderwind blade(with his feats and items he could attack 18 times as a full round action and once per day he could attack 34 times on a full attack while moving and traveling in shadows from target to target.)
4.Xannifer Blackwind(Human/Cleric12/Entropomancer1)
Evil cleric I made who followed Nerull believing the only point in life was to die, and his only reason for still be "alive" was to carry out Nerull's purpose.
5.&6.Kith(Human/Fighter11)Trevin(Human/Ranger8/Deep wood sniper3)
The DM let me play 2 chars, so I made a 2 wpn ftr and a super archer that were brother(and crazy). I even had a cool fight where teh DM allowed to fighter to wait for his brother to run up and slide under him as he jumped and attack with his first hit, as the archer fired a shot while sliding to the creature and then 2 more shots as he passed the creature and did a 180 to hit him, the the fighter finished his full attack(not totally rules right, but awsome none the less). I had to roll like 14 d20s for all the checks and attacks.

My characters always seem to have had some strange accident that changed their appearance somehow, BUT... here are some of my favs (there are WAYYYYY to many to mention them all since I've been playing [like a lot of folks] since 1st edition)

37.) William Vestagere (Paladin 20/Ranger 20) - we were trying our own breed of epic level back in 2nd edition on a quest to recover the "Wand of Orcus" from his own hot little hands. This guy lost an eye, then he lost his left leg just below the knee. Our cleric was down, so in a fit of desperation to staunch the flow of blood, and to provide support, the magic user ended up (somehow) fusing a +3 "midnight" mace to his leg. So he had a magical mace as a prosthetic leg. Also, while in Hell, he found an ancient fallen comrade with a +5 Vorpal Holy Avenger, and taking it as an omen from heaven, added to his own arsenal (now he had 2 Holy Avengers - Double Deuce! as Strongbad would say. (We were young an impetuous, what can I say? Fun-fun-fun)

38.) Tesla (MU 20) oh yeah, I had a mullet too. He had his soul mystically transferred to the body of one of the enemies we were fighting. They were tall, silvery warriors with razor sharp wings. Can't remember their names, but man he was FUN to play after that!

Now, sometimes I DM for my kids and their friends, and would you believe that they have a strange, silvery winged mage that lives in an isolated tower just outside of town? And the "Marshall" in town is an aging Paladin with an eye patch and the weirdest peg-leg you have ever seen.

Heroes never die, they just get reintroduced to the next generation...

14: Golin Longshanks Deep Gnome/12 Barbarian. He had the instaneoues rage feat which always kicked in when someone mentioned his height... hehheheh.

39: Radox The Green. Druid 15/Rogue 5. My absolute favourite character - the most fun ever. He was also raised by the wandering gypsies in Ravenloft and a loyal subject of Strahd. Great days.

Pi: Mortaine/Legion. 'Tanarri' Paladin. A Hu Paladin slain by the last breath of a Demon called Legion, when he was restored to life, part of the Demon was restored in him. Quickly geas'd to "never comit an evil act" by the Solar NPC it was like rping Dr Jeckyl and Mr Hyde. Brilliant fun: "Save YOU?! Why the hells should I save ... aaarhhh ahhh! the pain! OK ok, I'll do it..."

41: Eg Chien, Half Dragon/Monk 22nd epic level in 3.0. Which means he had a lot of attacks but rarely hit anything. Remember balancing on the back of a huge dragon with four attacks and failing to hit ... once. To annoying by far. Good RP though. An old man running around in a loin cloth beating the crap outta people. It was more fun back then, before George Lucas ruined the concept with the whole Yoda thing in Ep2

011101010 (42): Currently playing Iskriel Door a 8th level Psy Warrior. Originally a 55 year old battle scarred veteran (and male) had an unfortunate accident with a fellow PC Wizard who HAD a perchant for buxom blondes and polymorph other spells. Mix that with a natural 20 on the roll, and an evil DM and the rest writes itself. Good fun to play though.

42 Inhan Fighter 8/Wizard 2/ Arcane Archer 3
The bane of my DM completely untouchable and when the cunning dm got three warriors in close combat with him i pointed out my base attack and HP and promptly butchered them with a longsword
43 Isdale Sourcera 12
Inhans companion loved phantasamal killer and improved invisability, once walked into the big bosses grand hall whilst invisable killed him with pk and walked out again, now that ruined the final fight.
44 Furno Fire sourcera 4
The conventional blow it all up with fire spells eaten by red dragon!
45 Charcole Fighter 8/ dervish 1
hehe loads of attacks with an or double axe tended to get shot at a lot

there are others but these are the most memorable and the ones with most charecter. With Inhan / Isdale we once spent an entire playing sesion roleplaying - we ended up owning a shop but we got as much exp as our DM was so impressed with our roleplaying.

In order of achievement

1. Dayron (wild elf fighter 9/ rogue 11 / illusionist 10)
My favourite. Dayron could get into anywhere. Now a quasi-friend/quasi villain in my current campaign (as DM). Kind of like Q or is it Cue on Star Trek. I'm not so emotionally attached that I won't let the PCs kill him if they are somehow able to.

2. Loendal Ilmare (wood elf druid 12)
My first character. He was 1e. XP was so hard to come by that PCs in 3.5 reach Loendal's level in about a quarter of the time. I think Loendal went through over 30 old school sized module adventures just to reach level 12. That included the whole Temple of Elemental Evil and Scourge of the Slave Lords. These days ToEE will get you to level 14 on its own.

3. Krill Denethorn (human ranger 11)
Was 1e as well. We played two characters at the time and he was basically Loendal's right hand man. Strangely enough with the 1e rules he was a ranger with terrible dexterity. However, he was a melee juggernaut in platemail.

4. Ravendriel Zanteen (human fighter 5)
Was working toward the Lasher prestige class, but I found I didn't like role playing a female PC as much as I thought I would.

5. Turin Hawkmoon (rogue 1 / enchanter 4)
My current character. He is working toward the arcane trickster PrC.

Arsenic Hemlock (male human ranger 10th assassin 5th) CE

Arsenic Hemlock is known throughout Cartha as a grand hero for slaying the evil mindflayer who had been using polymorph to pose as the king. In actuality the assassination was intended for the real king in a long campaign to create a state of anarchy throughout the region. Nonetheless he didn't think twice about turning down the praises and prizes given to him by the kingdom. Now he lives quietly (until i finish DMing my current adventure) in the rural areas surrounding Cartha. Of course from time to time he feels the need to practice his assassination skills on the local gnome community a few leagues away. (Favorite Enemy since 1st level)

along with that are a few other characters that never made it to double digit levels. This is one of my favorites to roleplay.
