Like the title says:

1. The Book of Creation (Major artifact): This one of a kind artifact created by the GM I used to play with has plagued his players for YEARS, anything written in the becomes real in the game... ANYTHING. Because of this book players now how to deal with Vorpal Chiwawas (dunno how to spell it), mutant uber-frogs/bunnies, other various super powerful magic items (both good and evil). and other various creture and objects. The thing is.... its the players who wrote the stuff... its Addictive! and the GM somehow managed to put this book in the hands of a lvl 10 psion who thought it was a good idea to create a whole new breed of dragon with impenetrable scales.....

In this game that I was playing in when I was in college the DM let us PCs get control of a magical flying city. Of course we proceeded to run completely amok.

Me: Wait...we have a flying city?
DM: Uhhh...yeah.
Me: :lightbulb I have an idea.
Other players: What?
Me: Trust me, guys this is gonna be great!
*fly city to nearest large metropolitan center, my character leans over the edge of the flying city*
Me: GIVE US A HUNDRED MILLION GOLD PIECES OR WE LAND THIS PUPPY!!:D

8. (In a psionic campaign) THE ANNULUS! Not only does it sound ridiculous when spoken, but this item (published!) can be used to threaten a diety with destruction. Yes, I mean Illisnise, and by that I mean holding a god at ransom so that one can extrace payment from Illithids. Furthermore, free of charge(unlike distintigrating Illisnise) one can randomly kill a group of psionic creatures, anywhere.

God bless Munchkinism.

10. The Sacred Lantern.

This started as a celestial summoner artifact. The PCs didnt knew its exactly functions, but only they had to give it to a half-celestial to be activated (though it worked perfectly as a daylight spell). They brought one Half Celestial at the final BBEG battle and then a Colossal Angel appeared (the prophecy told about a greater good... LOL ).

Then 20 years passed and the Cleric kept the Sacred Lantern, but he asked me if he could re-arrange it... I told him "only with a DC 40 craft check"... He had +20 in his rolls... and a natural 20 did the trick. Now, every person who saw the light of the Lantern became Lawful Good. The rest of the party (Chaotic Neutral, Neutral, Neutral Good) thought it was too dangerous and hide it until the final BBEG battle.... In the Underdark.... with a city full of drows...

The collateral damage for the party included the main Fighter (N), the sorcerer (CN) and a couple of the cohorts. And the BBEG. Even then, they loved how it ended.

In my first D&D campaign, I allowed the Wizard to make a ring of magic missile - at will, no charges.

I figured, one magic missile at a time couldn't hurt, right?

One krakken later...

He then gave it to his familiar (a pseudodragon), so I could control it and it didn't really come up again.

Never again. LOL.

The Sword of Truth
When wielding the sword of truth you do not draw attacks of opportunity and gain +20 dodge bonus to AC.
Bypasses all DR.
Deals an an extra 5D6 Uber-Damage on a succesful hit.
When you kill an enemy take 1d4 wisdom damage.
If you are not the "Seeker of Truth" you are polymorped into a short gray creature with long arms short legs, poor vision and -2 to Intelligence and Charisma. There is no saving throw

I was considering adding this weapon to a campaign but realized I should sober up before I make a decision.

13.) Gungnir, spear of Odin (major artifact): +5 Returning Bane: Giants, enchanted so that you could use a move action to activate it's true strike spell-like ability, so that your next attack with it would be at a +20 bonus.

I was Dming an epic level norse mythology campaign, and Odin got tripped by Fenrir (being an epic wolf of sorts), dropping his fabled weapon. The party was beating up on some minor titans, and the chaotic neutral rogue was nearby at the time.... Needless to say, I was disgruntled. After Ragnarok (the final battle in which this all occured), the PC's felt like messing around in the mortal realm after it had been "regrown", and that spear caused some problems.

The book of law looks like a typical heavy tome of fine quality, but plainly bound in ordinary leather. It radiates strong divination magic.

Normally, it is a comprehensive guide to local laws in whatever area the book is in. But if someone opens it while voiceing a legal question, it will open to a page with the relevant laws. Further questions can be used to find exceptions and loopholes.

Harmless? No! It lets PC's run rampant in a lawful society...and all within the law.

Loophole pen: Any contract signed with this pen WILL have a loophole that the signatory can use to get out of the contract. If all parties use it, then there will be loopholes for everyone. Knowlege(Law) to FIND the loophole...but if you know it's there, that should give a bonus.

Both of these items were developed, according to legend, by a Marilith and an Eladrian, working together. HOW they managed to do it, none know, but these two female entities of chaos succeeded in creating a pair of artifacts of great use, both to enforce the law and to thwart it.
