One of the things I love most about travel is the overnight camping. Too many DM's miss out on this valuable opportunity for roleplaying (and roll playing).

In the spirit of fun, I'm starting this list of things to do when setting up camp. There are no limitations really, just ideas on how to spice up this often boring time:

1. Have PC's hunt for meals (this can be amusing).
2. Annoying random encounters (anyone remember Pack Rats?).
3. Roleplay situations (e.g., the Dwarf and Elf have watch together...ugh!).
4. Make use of rarely used skills (e.g., profession: cook) or widely used skills in a competition among PC's (e.g., Jump, Balance, Rope Use...).

The idea for this thread is to come up with ideas to use when the glorious words: "O.K. you set up camp for the night" are uttered.

I'd also like to read any funny stories associated with such situations.
