2nd printing of the 3.5 PHB (formerly "Where can I buy DnD online?") [Archive] - Wizards Community

Just went down to my local gaming store and had a look through their manuals. The 3.5 Players Handbooks they had on display for sale were from the very first printing of the players handbook in July 2003!!! Since the PHB is the most popular DnD product, I imagine most of their other products are exceptionally old also! I'm wanting to buy products that are up-to-date with most of the errata corrected, and it seems I can't get that from my local shop.

So, my question is. Can I buy DnD products via this web site, or directly from WotC somehow? If not, where is the best place to buy DnD manuals online?

Edit: Changed title of thread.

I have bought any materials that I could not get locally and desired so much that I couldn't bear to live without them, from Amazon.com...though I also at times must admit I also frequent http://www.barnesandnoble.com/ at times.

I have not seen nor heard of an updated Printing of the PHB.

The Only printing I know of is the July 2003 Version..so they might not have all that "exceptionally Old" products after all.

Um, the 2003 printing is just as up to date as the ones coming off the line now. 3.0 came out in 2000, 3.5 in 2003.

Best I can tell you is to check amazon or any of the big book store sites. We're not supposed to link directly to any commercial site (hint hint Greylord ;)) though, because its a CoC violation.

I thought they corrected errata in the PHB as it was discovered. So that a recent printing of the PHB would be more up to date than the first printing. Am I wrong?

Looking at my 3.0 players handbook, inside the front cover, on the bottom of the page where it credits the D&D design team, it says: "Second printing November 2000. Changes in this printing supersede pervious printings of this book."

This suggests that there were changes made between the original printing in August 2000 and the second printing in November 2000; that's what I'm referring to when I suggest recent printings should be more "up to date" than the original printing of a given manual.

I continue to check the volumes I see at the hobby store. They still say "First Printing".

The second printing hasn't been released yet. So if you want the errata, you can only get that online for now. So it'd be best to either wait (if you want it all printed in one book) and use the SRD for your 3.5 update, or just buy the version currently available and use the web errata.

Wow, it was 2 months before there was a second printing of the 3.0 PHB, but now after 2 years there still has not been a second printing of the 3.5 PHB. Anyone got any ideas when there will be one?

True, for some reason I thought it was 2005. I must be too excited about d20 Future. :-)

As soon as the first printing batch is all sold out and there is a demand for a second printing.

I doubt it's going to be sold out by the end of the year. I plan to buy mine after January 2005.

Why? I still believe the 3.5e revision came out too early, especially after I have bought 3e when it came out back in 2000. (The massive PHB sold-out prompted the ordering of second printing run.) Trust me, unlike a new version of Madden Football videogame, I'm not running toward my FLGS to snatch a copy of 3.5e anytime soon.
