3 Dragon Ante question - multiple colored flights - Help? Anyone? [Archive] - Wizards Community

A few questions...

Problem A)

Scenario:

1) A player has 2 white and 2 red dragons on his flight (players were tied for the lead after 3 rounds, so they've gone to overtime).

2) After the fourth round, players are still tied, so they go for another round. The player with the 2 white and 2 red dragons plays Tiamat.

Question is: Since Tiamat counts for colored flights, does the player get 2 colored flights, or does he choose the stronger?

Problem B)

Scenario:

1) A player has a colored flight on the table already (3 reds for example). There is a tie at the end of the 3 rounds, so they go to overtime and play 1 more round.

2) The player then plays a 4th red dragon.

Question is: Does this count as a colored flight again? And...seeing as you can make several combinations of 3 red dragons, could you technically have multiple red flights and rake in a huge amount of gold from each player?

12-08-05, 04:13 PM Not sure about the first question. I think it would be OK; Tiamat should count as all colors at the same time.

As for the multiple red special flight: no. Quoting page 10 of the rulebook:
"Each player can’t complete more than one of each color flight and one of each strength flight in a gambit."

So if the player already scored a red flight, he cant achieve a red flight again until next gambit.

hmmm...you're probably right here. I thought that rule meant you could only have one color flight and one strength flight per gambit, e.g., not one of each color or number per gambit. Also, I didn't really think about this nuance until just now, e.g., that in a game with several players, they could beat you to the punch by playing a special flight that you wanted to play.
