I am sure this has been covered but is there a list of all 3.5 PrC and feats so we know what is allowed? Because the idea i am hearing is if it was not reprinted in 3.5 it does not exist. I thought 3.5 was an update and anything that was not reprinted was fine well thats what the 3.5 PHB and 3.5 DMG said. So is there a list?

Well, all non-core stuff is optional by default. There's not really such a thing as "allowed" or "not allowed", except as determined by your DM and gaming group. Anything they want is in, anything they don't like is out. Simple.

Now, if we're talking about the RPGA or whatever, I do believe they keep their own lists of this stuff.

there are a few exceptions to some feats that change drastically from 3.0 to 3.5.

The first that comes to mind, and is massively altered, is Widen Spell.

in 3.0 it increased the area 50% and was 1 level higher.

in 3.5 it is 100% increased area and 3 levels higher.

PLus the War Wizard of Cormyr 3.0 PRC can not be combined with the 3.5 version of the feat otherwise you would get an increase of 200% area at first level, or the dm would have to scrap the first level special power or only allow it a +50% area instead.

The total for is supposed to be a 150% increase with the feat and this power combined, and the spell level increase for using Widen spell is supposed to cost a spell slot 1 level higher.

This makes the prc unstable and you must use the 3.5 version even though it sucks compared to the3.0 version.

Thanks, CC

I was always under the impression that if it didn't change between 3.0 and 3.5 (by change, I mean the rules changed or it was renamed/combined with something else) then it's still legal to use (pending DM permission of course) since 3.5 was, as you said, an update, not a re-write.

And I thought it was just the opposite. "I thought" is the important part of that. I cant back it up, and wont try.

As I went from 1td ed straight to 3.5, I have little 3.0 stuff to conflict with. So I would take 3.0 feats on a case by case basis.

According to the 3.5 DMG & 3.5 PHB on page 4 under Why a revision? it says it is compatible with exsting products with revision and miror adjustments. To me that means 3.0 is fine and you can change if it needs to be updated. in CuttinCurt post the Gm would decide how to handle for his game. I have all the 3.0 books. And to say that I cant play a deepwood sniper, foresaker, or a candle caster Or take feats like knock down or Multicultural because they were not reprinted does not seem right. IMO

thats a list of everything. I am going to start a new thread to find out if 3.0 and 3.5 are compatible.

3.0 and 3.5 can be used together if the DM allows it? One of our DM's thinks that 3.5 is a new set of books and they can't be used with 3.0. I wish someone from Wizard would open a Thread or something to set this record straight! Our party refuses to change our char and lower their hit points/feats and other things making them weaker char because he doesn't want to read page 4 of the book!!!!!! Oh well, good thing we have another good DM......lol

I mix and max 3.5 & 3.0 books. I use the 3.0 core(Im to cheap to buy new core books, but get 3.5 supplements). The two are able to used together. The 3.0 class guidebooks has a few things that are underpowered & overpowered. The complete seris tweaks these from what I hear. Many People still use the classguide books with thier 3.5 books.

My sig says it...

We do the same thing. Although WE have a 3.5 DMG but everything else is 3.0, with the exception of a few new books we've picked up here and there. Our DM has the 3.0 DMG. But most of the time he grabs our 3.5.....lol Although like you rbrt_Spade, he mixes and matches. We play some pretty crazy char. so not being able to use both would now destroy our char.
