knowlie 09-06-05, 01:40 AM	Are the (old) class handbooks such as Tome and Blood, Sword and Fist etc. considered 3.0 and thus the information found in them considered obsolete in a 3.5 campaign? Or has everything in them that has not been updated (such as the Weapon Master PrC from Sword and Fist) been considered unnecessary to update, and hence O.K. to use? This would include feats, PRCs, spells, equipment...the whole 9 yards. How can I find out what is usable for 3.5 and what is not?

In some cases, things were renamed or folded into something else. In others, they are unupdated. In theory, the stuff that has never been updated should be usable in your game with little to know work to revise it. That's not always true, of course. As a DM, I generally allow stuff from the older class books - as long as it hasn't already been updated. For example, if you want to use the Order of the Bow Initiate prestige class, you have to use the Complete Warrior version rather than the Sword and Fist Version. However, if you want to use the Deepwood Sniper prestige class, you'll need to use it from Masters of the Wild, since it hasn't been updated yet.

The Forsaker from Masters of the Wild stands out in my mind as a pretty strong example, mostly because of its Damage Reduction.
