3.0 to 3.5... Changes? [Archive] - Wizards Community

08-08-06, 05:01 PM What exactly was changed with the 3.0 to 3.5 conversion? I have several adventures that are 3.0, and I know that some of the monsters have changed in terms of spells, but waht about simple things like rats and goblins? What aspects of the game were revised?

But off-hand some of the major changes were: Damage reduction, Rangers got an overhaul and various spell changes.

08-08-06, 05:29 PM Not enough to be readibly noticeable in most cases, but enough to trip you up whenever you try to use 3.0 material in 3.5 without going over it with a fine toothed comb. :)

The most obvious ones are DR got completely remade, so no monster with DR is going to be usable until you fix it, the Ranger and Bard got overhauled, TWF and Ambidex got combined, and they renamed a few of the skills.

Few new feats made it in as well.
Oh yes, and any magical spell that could possibly be used both in combat and out of combat was utterly nerfed.

Many 3.0 adventures took advantage of aditional spell casting Haste provided and were written into the "tactics" of spell casters.
In 3.5, Haste does not have the same effects.

OP - the diference between 3.0 and 3.5 works like this.

If you carefully evaluate a 3.0 mudule with the update booklet you will find that ba a million to one chance, nothing in the module was altered in 3.5 - if you do not, there's a hasted Ranger with DR.
