3.5 D&D bashin thread [Archive] - Wizards Community

I just wanted to mention that the game has many more facets than any previous versions. I feel that so many editions bother my pocket book, but no one forces me, and if you do not like this edition you can always play an earlier one still.

They are in a creative rut, but I find that the more intellegent the player the funner and more interesting the character combinations are.

However, as long as everyone is playing the edition and game, they are having fun with, its all good.

I dont play 3.whatever, but there is enough generic D&D ideas, material and suggestions on here to make it worthwhile.
For actual rules discussion, I'll go to Dragonsfoot, which is dedicated to OOP D&D and AD&D.

While Im always happy to discuss the relative merits (in the eye of the observer) of the various editions, it is a somewhat unconstructive use of these forums, though I'll happily pursue such in PM's.

10-23-05, 09:59 PM I saw someone coming down on it. Consumers have the ultimate power, refse to consume. I simply built off a locked thread. I wanted to defend WotC to a point. I wonder why they block threads where people simply state an opinion. I doubt one or 2 nay sayers will affect consumtion of the game. No biggie. I have never seen a board of people so ifish and where people say I give threads till this time till they are locked.

I find that constructive crisism might merit their concern. After all it is there consumer base and I think they would want to know. Now if it is just a rant, people will see it for that.

I think threads talking about merits of the game might yield constructive critism. It is a little sad to see that people expect threads to be closed that could in the end be good for them.

10-23-05, 10:15 PM I highly doubt that the problem is with constructive criticism. I read the thread and I could tell it was going to degenerate into a slugfest. It started with nothing more than a rant and never provided anything remotely constructive. I am glad that the Wizos shut those types of threads down as they only cause problems.

I have noticed that when people are being constructive, the threads can get rather long. The Wizos get involved with their opinions as do the designers sometimes. The game has changed with input from these boards and letters to the designers. They are very much open to criticism, when it more than simple whining.

I, for one, don't see why people simply complain. When I complain, I try to throw options out there so that I am part of the solution rather than the problem. Complaining without some options to fix the percieved problems is a waste of time and energy.
