Would like to know how often you can get a dose of poison from a tiny viper.

Each day? Each week?

A dose is enough to effect a medium-sized creature.

Every time it bites you. :D

At the lab I worked at in college, they would milk the venemous snakes once a day.

Kewl thanks. I'll start another thread with my other question.

My uncle used to milk the rattlesnakes he kept once per day as well. He usually got more venom per milking from a signifigantly bigger snake, if it helps. :)

Although if you plan on using it to envenom an ordinary weapon, you might need more than the normal amount of venom, as you may need to thicken it enough to make it cling to the blade.

Just a thought. Probably not worth worrying about in D&D.

A skill check would definately be involved, though. And don't forget, unless you have the right prestige class, you have a reasonably good chance of poisoning yourself eventually.

Also from most snakes you get a very tiny amount of venom. Most likely not enough to coat a dagger.
