3.5 Stronghold Book? [Archive] - Wizards Community

06-26-07, 09:49 AM Is there a 3.5 book out there with rules for building castles and other structures? I know 3.0 had the Stronghold Builder's Guidebook, and that most of the rules there could be used for 3.5, but I'm curious if there is another book. My friend has mentioned he found snippets from something he claimed was a 3.5 version of the same rules but I haven't turned anything up in my searches.

I'm more than willing to look at any publisher for this information so if you have a book from another publisher that you are particularly fond of, let me know.

06-26-07, 09:57 AM I don't know of one, but usually, porting a 3.0 source to 3.5 isn't that difficult. I imagine you'll be working with a lot of hardnesses and HP of structures, which has largely remained unchanged. Just remember that in 3.5, you either have no cover (+0 AC), cover (+4 AC), or total over (safe from typical attacks). Also, concealment is either no concealment (0% miss), partial (20% miss), or total (50% miss). They did away with all the different degrees of cover and concealment, which might apply in that book.

3rd party? Haven't seen one, although there probably is one.

I would recommend sticking with the 3e WotC publication.

Red flag right there. Be sure to have a copy in hand before useing it. It sounds like some third party ubertrash that can bend a game badly. Dont let him use bits and peices until you can see the whole thing for yourself.

06-26-07, 10:55 AM Oh, I'm not worried about him bending rules. He's one of the most trustworthy people I know. We don't plan on using a book till we have it. We're just trying to find the best book out there for what we are trying to do.
