08-01-06, 08:52 AM The SRD, too. I was running a 3.0 game once upon a time, because that was what I had the books for. A few players petitioned to use 3.5 versions of their classes, so I printed out the SRD material for those.

08-01-06, 10:00 AM The System Reference Document contains the parts of the core rules that other companies are allowed to use when making D&D-compatible products (core books without an XP chart or all the parts explaining how to run a game, &c., plus some other rules like Psionics).

You can find the original as a set of document files on the WotC website. It's a bit clunky to use. Since it's content people can reprint, some folks have made very pretty and navigable nes online. You can google "d20 SRD" to find the various versions of it on the Internet.

I prefer this one (d20srd.org) for ease of use.
