3.5?? [Archive] - Wizards Community

08-08-04, 10:34 AM I have al the core rule books and some adventures and FRCS Rof
But the core books are 3.0???+ i bought them 3 years ago... and have Just now started to seriously play D&D.
But is it really worth it bying all the core rulbooks again??? i mean the 3.5 versions???

I have heard that it is worth it bying the Players handbook again and MABy the DMs guide is also worth it but not the MM is this true?

Can i live completly without these books or are they must haves?

08-08-04, 10:56 AM Honestly, you'll be fine. Of course thereare rule changes between the two editions, but really not enough to make it night and day difference. If you are really cash poor, you can always get the SRD for 3.5 and use your current books. For many people that's fine. For me, I'm back at cross-referencing various sources into one coherent form, so I just went back and bought the new books.

edit: And >>HERE<< (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=d20/article/srd35) woul be the location of the version 3.5 SRD. Enjoy. :)

I haven't gained all that much more than if I had done the cheaper and easier thing which is to go to this link

And use those to update whatever I needed to update to a 3.5 game.

Easier? Not in the least.

The SRD (A resource for third party publishers to legally and easily make certain that their products comply with the licensing requirements) contains no working index, almost no tables, no cross-referencing, and little portability.

The books are worth it if you are going to make the jump from 3.0 to 3.5.
I don't claim that you need to make the jump. I did, and have no regrets.
