| Rico_Huerta04-13-06, 10:51 PM | Are 3rd edition core rule books still viable with 3.5 ? or are my books obsolete? I did not buy the 3.5 core rulebooks and wonder if there is a downloadable update to rules or something else I can do to make sure my books are not worthless, especially since I had purchased the last of the 3.0 core about a month before I found out about 3.5. (I know this post is very very very late on the whole 3.5 stuff, but I don't check this board much, I'm mainly on the minis boards. |

I would suggest you get a 3.5 PHB, it will be easier to work with, especially for the spells (a lot of them changed). But your MM and most likely your DMG, will probably be fine, though you might want to check the SRD http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=d20/article/srd35 from time to time, to check magic items. The 3.5 MM is nice because it has things like grapple check values for each of the monsters, so you don't have to go through the trouble of messing with it. I still use both my 3rd edition DMG and MM from time to time. Only time I use the 3rd ed. PHB is when someone has a specific question from it. |
