Tempest Stormwind 09-20-07, 11:42 AM	Hello, Although I'm new on this board, I'm an old fan of Dungeons & Dragons and want to start a new game of pen & paper 3rd rule Dungeons & Dragons but I need to know what is the starter kit for that game. Any help would be much appreciated... thanks! Regards, Depends. The "starter kit" is a bundle containing the Player's Handbook and a few other little accessories, including dice. It's good if you're new to pen and paper and want to dive right in. (The shop I help at has a few copies reserved for drop-in new players at our weekly games.) For people like you, who have gamed in the past, all you need is the Player's Handbook (and possibly the other core books if you plan on DMing). For TOTAL new players, there's the D&D Basic Game, which is essentially a cross between simplified 3e rules with pregenerated characters, a board game, and D&D Miniatures. It's good for young players or those who haven't heard of tabletop role-playing games before.
