Gelatinous Cube Kill my PC with a nasty spell, an orc's blade, or a giant's fist, and I'll be sad, but if he gets stunned helpless and slowly consumed, melted and turned insane, or grappled and has his brain pulled out the top of his head, it's just too much to bear. What gets you?

I've been wanting to give that a spin since I first laid eyes on it. 7) Mind-controlled by the BBEG, forced to attack my own party, and killed by them because they couldn't break the mind-affecting enchantment.

(Why of why didn't I just take 10!?) 13) Having yor DM use the triple Crit = Death rule varient and being killed by a resulting Chill Touch spell (actually happened to my friend's 10th-level half-celestial human paladin). 14) Doing an all out Power Attack only to be killed by your own weapon when an opposing caster cast Backbiter upon it.

He had -7 HP left after htat. He almost kileld himself accidentlaly. That owuld be the worse way to go.\ 23.) glass vials break when I fall into a pit trip. i am slowly being eaten alive by own acid.

"AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHhhhhhhhhhhh....." screams the sorceror as he falls into the bottomless pit. As we scramble to solve the puzzle, we forget he was there. And then 'click', the floor is back. But wait, how do we get the sorceror back? Oh well, it's a shame he had to go, but them's the lumps. Off we go!

He picks up a pair of scimitars, multi-classes to Ranger, and adopts the Chaotic Good way of life.

Werebat troll paladin 05-09-06, 09:40 AM	32) Using the 20-20-Hit rule and getting killed by a medium skeleton (party wizard). 33) Being dominated by an evil artifact and trying to kill the party (RttToEE) 34) Being a death knight, having little to now HP and dying because I slipped when going down a ladder. 35) Begin a paladin who gets attacked by a cloaker, the party evoker thinking it was a mind-flayer*, casting lightning bolt on the Paladin's head, having it richochette and completly obliterate him. *- I was young and metagaming. I had heard the other pc's talking about some crazy creature called a mindflayer that ate people's brains.

Kevtar 05-09-06, 10:59 AM	My son made a PC modeled after Lu Bu from Dynasty Warriors and he was a GREAT character. However, he failed a skill check and fell off a rickety rope-bridge at the opening of "The Forge of Fury." My son has never lived that down, and to be honest, I still think it has taken a little wind out of the sails of every PC he has created since. :( As the Tick would say, "D20 is a harsh mistress" - lol
Rolof 05-09-06, 11:02 AM	NOTE: This happened to my friend, not me-I was the DM at the time, it was NOT my intent to kill anybody in the party, in fact I'd gone out of my way to try to insure I didn't while still providing a challenge. 39) Turned to stone by magical trap. Rest of party was too scared to attempt to cross the magically trapped floor, so threw a lasso around what was now basically a statue of the player. Through some bad planning and even worse rolls, player killed when stone statue was toppled over, broken by the party trying to drag him back to the area known to be safe.

Rickiel 05-09-06, 04:10 PM	42: You scout out a giant's cave, note that there is nothing valuable in it at all, and of course that the giant is still alive in there, report back, get lectured about how to kill a giant in there sleep (I'm chaotic good...why would the LAWFUL good people tell me how to assasinate someone for nothing :confused: ), and to come with them to go kill the giant. The rest of the party makes the noise, we get into a fight, and of course I get squishied. And that's why Raz became an elf at one point!
