Both are true. 4e is the new mental rule system: 4e is not a ruleset. 4e is a state of being. Generally one induced by innane rumors.

It's major adventure was featured in an goblin invested cave called the Howling Mine, where the players needed to kill the Goblin King. Featured an older version of the Archmage called the Prodigal Sorcerer, and my personal favorite PrC; The Royal Assassin.

Unfortunately, most of us are too educated stupid to understand the 4e.

The moment the first gaming store stocks one of the 4th Ed rulebooks on the shelf, fire will sweep across the country, Satan will rise to the earth to wage war with the armies of Heaven, skys will rain fire, rivers will become as blood, ect, ect, ect.

04-13-06, 06:55 AM 4e D&D is already out... it's been out for at least twenty years.

It's a revolutionary game system. You are immersed in a 3D environment with billions of NPCs, and loads of things to interact with. There are a lot of classes available, though some have some pretty tough Prerequisits that can take years of study in the University Class to achieve.

Admittedly, the removal of the Monsters and Magic is somewhat disappointing, but trust me, 4e is so immersive you'll hardly notice!

For those who want to try it out, just walk out your front door...

04-13-06, 07:47 AM In short, there will be a 4e, but probably not for another 5+ years. Don't expect it any time soon. WotC personnel say that it isn't in development as of yet. I REALLY wish they would make a flashing banner saying "NO 4e THIS YEAR" and keep it up until it is in production. :)

The following day Washington was swallowed by a black hole, plagues of blind, naked, flying rodents decimated Europe and the seas rose up and turned yellow. In the confusion the Red Soxx won and caused reality to shatter shortly after I got here.

So yeah, everyone is screwed...

But they'll forgot why the banner is up, or get tired of it, and just take it down. Spawning million of 4th edition threads are coming when people realize its gone.

Do you have any information to back up these statements, or are you just hoping?

#1 and #3 are directly contradicting each other, by the way.

Hell, 3rd edition didn't make my 1st edition books obsolete.

Using the blood as a marker, we found a walrus sitting on doorway. Brasky tore off the tusks and stabbed the walrus in the eye with them, before we went into the door.

Inside, Brasky found Chuck Norris protecting a cache of books that were all for 4th Edition.

The two forces are now locked in eternal combat.

04-13-06, 03:00 PM Yeah, 3.0 and 3.5 are so similar that you can (not that you should) use material from one source without even updating it. I am running 3.5e characters through the Adventure Path series and the ONLY conversion that I've felt was needed was to use proper DR and I would reference monster stats out of the MM instead of the Adventure's appendix. Major NPCs I just played as is and fudged anything weird.

You know what? It has worked perfectly without any problems.

I prefer to have the most updated material available. I sold most of my 3.0 books (mostly class splat books, etc) because I prefer the 3.5 material, but if I come across 3.0 material I don't say "OMG! It's out of date and therefore must be destroyed". :)

Over 1,000 years ago D&D made 3.5 but it was so unstable that they needed to make a 4e. So the mighty Organization called The 13 wizards of the Cost did make a 4E but it was even more Unstable that it warped the world into a round shape (it was flat back then). So the Wizards had to lock 4e and all other editions away in a small Plane hoping to stop its power...They we're wrong.
4E kept growing in power and it soon took over other Planes and is still growing. WOTC is what is left of the 13 wizards and they are trying to keep it from coming to the Material plane.
But in the last 100 years it has started to leak out a small rip in the time space Continuum and is Warping the Past and the Future. All strange things are because of 4e. The Dinosaurs were not killed by a meteor, no. They were killed by the massive power of 4e and it wiped them from the earth. The Dinosaurs, the leaning tower of Pisa, the northern lights, Bush wining the election, they are all because of 4e. The Bermuda Triangle is the biggest Rip that 4e has made so far. Soon it will eat the entire world.
