4th Edition/Saga [Archive] - Wizards Community

12-20-06, 05:15 AM We've all heard about this new d20 Saga action coming out next year for the Star Wars RPG.

Apparently some Skills will be folded into one Skill – Bluff/Forgery/Disguise = Deception.

I have a feeling WotC is testing the waters with this new system to see what people dig, and then implement those changes into 4th edition.

What do you think?

12-20-06, 08:47 AM I think that Saga Ed Star Wars RPG has nothing to do with them "testing" the waters. The authors of the new version of Star Wars want a better system to emulate the universe.

That said I DO think that they'd be fools to NOT use it in that way, I just don't think they sat in a room and said, "Okay, lets try our 4e ideas on the Star Wars community!". :)

I really like the changes though and most likely will modify 3.5e if we like Saga Ed's changes.

I would also like:

Hide + Move Silently = Stealth
Listen + Spot = Perception

...and a few others.

I think people need to stop worrying about a 4th Edition of D&D.

12-20-06, 01:31 PM If there is going to be changes to the mass amount of skills this will change the distribution of how many skill points we get .... so if you try and impliment these skall changes now you have lotsa work ahead of you in the department of working them in.

Everytime they put out a new rulebook, they're testing out game mechanics. I'm hoping for the SECR, they incorporate the new Two-Weapon Fighting feat and dropped Ambidexterity.
