| Moe, The Black202-29-04, 08:01 PM | what do you do if you keep acidently killing off the PC's even when you try to soften the encounters alot?? and also what do you do if one of the PC's is capable of killing all of the enemys single handedly and easly?? |

The best I have for lots of death if you don't have players with tons of character concepts is softening Raise Dead and giving a fortitude save to avoid level loss - buy the Ghostwalk campaign in case of TPK - occassionally capture PCs by switching to subdual damage when they are low on HP but sometimes characters die it's a brutal game sometimes and a game without the threat of death is not too good. As for the strong character how about some details on how he can wipe the floor with the bad guys when the rest of the party are being killed off. It may be he's not that invicible. |

Still it doesn't seem right - how do you handle hit points - roll or max hp at 1st, half HD +1+Con thereafter? How are they set on the character wealth table DMG3.5 pg 135 did they all have 200,000- 250,000 GP worth of gear? Did they simply have a bad dice rolls? Did the Umber hulk get several critical hits? It may be that they have too low HPs, or too low treasure, or bad dice. |
