Jacl32 09-02-06, 05:30 PM	I just recently posted another thing on clay golems but this thread is for SPECIFIC questions ABOUT Clay golems. On creating a clay golem, the monster manual 1 says that the creater must cast the spells to create the golem (it has other stuff buy I meant this specifically), but the spells to create it are "animate objects","commune", and "resurrection." If the creater has to cast the spells, doesn't that mean that tecnically ONLY clerics can make golems? I'm a druid and I am thinking about making one. Is there a way that my adventures with me can cast the spells for me? Is there a way that I can pay a cleric to make me a golem all together?:raincloud :help:
Arvagor 09-02-06, 08:11 PM	If the creater has to cast the spells, doesn't that mean that tecnically ONLY clerics can make golems?Techincally, only clerics can construct clay golems (which historically makes sense; golems are traditionally associated with Jewish culture, and were manufactured/animated by rabbis as a means of protection -- see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Golem for more detail). In D&D, a wizard can construct just about any other golem. Anyone else could use Use Magic Device to activate the appropriate scrolls or wands, or golem manuals (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/magicItems/wondrousItems.htm#golemManual) for that matter, or you could have someone assist you in the creation process for those spells you could not otherwise cast.
