***WHERE CAN I DOWNLOAD SRD for 3.0e DnD??????????? [Archive] - Wizards Community

12-20-04, 05:21 AM Does anyone know where ican downloaded the system refrence document (SRD) for 3.0e DnD, i need to finish preparing a quest but i have left all my books!! :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: please help

12-20-04, 05:36 AM You know, I have the 3.5 SRD, but I have no idea where to find the 3.0. I wish I could help. :weep: You could get the 3.5 SRD, then download the conversion book and backward convert. They tell you what changes to make from the old version to the one; all you have to do is read that and then undo the changes. Simple, right? :confused:

Seriously, why don't people just type what they're looking for into Google before posting here looking for it? It takes less keystrokes even, since you don't have to form it as a question.

Egres, it's from the book of the same name by Terry Goodkind, the start of the Sword of Truth series. One of the better current fantasy series', IMHO, though it's started getting a little repetitive. He needs something really, really new to revitalize it.

People can be made to believe any lie because they want to believe it is true, or because they are afraid that it is true."

The corrolary doesn't really apply, but what the hey.

I won't go into length about how applicable it is in todays society, though. *coughIraqhasWMDshacksnort*

There's nothing inherently wrong with cross-posting, actually - as long as the topic is valid on both forums you post to. As a general rule of thumb that has been stated by wizo's before, generally speaking posting to two forums is OK (as long as it's on topic in both places). Posting to three is getting into grey area, though there are certainly times it can be justified. More than that is generally spamming - and a big no-no.

No, I haven't seen it. And new? That will only be "new" if there's a good reason for it beyond "I'm going to fiddle with things to try and fake newness." Like Robert Jordan did in like book 4 of the Wheel of Time, whichever one it was you didn't see Rand at all. It didn't mean he wasn't doing anything, it meant Jordan was playing the "Look at me! I can write about stuff going on in the background and make allusions to it to tick you off!" game.

It's like the "I'm going to write this book from 2nd person viewpoint and the entire text will consist of nested flashbacks!" It's a neat trick, but more often than not it makes for an annoying book.

What he should do is something really new, and morally hard to deal with. Like the often-mentioned horror that a son would become. It would be very interesting to A> have them bear a son, B> fight off the hordes of Hell to keep him protected and safe while he grows up, and C> still have the little bugger get twisted by his power and go nuts, forcing mom and dad to try their damdest to kill him before he does too much harm. Goodkind's dealt with enough morality plays that I'd like to see his plays along that line, and I'm getting tired of the constant "pregnant-not-pregnant-baby's-gonna-by-psycho" crap he keeps pulling.

Foreshadowing - good. Never getting around to what you foreshadowed - bad.

You're right, I hope it doesn't get weak. Personally, I thought the ending of the last book was very good, and predicted a new twist on th pov. I think I'm wrong. From the foreshadowing, someone's messing around with prophesy... Because the foreshadow takes place when Richard was cut by the sword of Truth... and Cara doesn't recognize Kahlan's name...

I searched (Google, AltaVista, etc..) for two months before I found a webpage where I could download the whole SRD for 3.0e. Here is the link to the website. File options are rtf, html, and txt formats. I recommend the rtf download. You can download the whole srd in a zip file (link at top of page at website) and that's cool. I hope this post helps. :)
