| Am_I_Still_Unconscious01-16-06, 04:52 AM | I have a player who just loves to step on my toes... so to speak His first character a gestalt rogue/fighter... not a bad character... until he bought A Spring Wall! and tried the whole "logic" card! He was caught in the corner a charging bugbear coming his way... so he rolls out his springwall and says "if he charges me he'll get tangled up", so i said yep, thats how it works and the bugbear made his save and then... "o, well my wall stays up, it cant just disappear, so he cant hit me with his morningstar" Second character (the bugbear didnt get him, but the party leaving him trapped behind a portcullis, for stealing from them in their sleep, did!)... gestalt barbarian/sorcerer... made flagrant use of expiditious retreat and fast movement... so he would run along like a grizzly bear on speed, i know... scary stuff! but i digress... i had no choice, the character was using his hellish movement rate to kill everything before the party could get to it, and making the game suck, the archer in the group even threw all his arrows in a river saying "i dont need these, they cant out-run (characters name) anyway!", so i hit him with a reflex save needing hall of fun traps and spells until i dropped him! now his third character... a ninja... and dear god... before the character was even done he asked "what happens if i put someone inside a bag of holding?", so i told him to read it himself, he did and in his first battle he snuck up an ogre and tried to stuff him in the bag... i wasnt very happy and told him you cant fit an ogre in a backpack, and then he tried to argue "but it says it can hold X-cubic feet", i hate him, and i told the party his next character will be a first level commoner with 1gp, they said thank you! so i go to you... the wonderful folks of the D&D message boards... choose his ninja's death and or torture! Be it monsters, traps, or just fun situations... help me make his characters life as bad as his characters make mine! |
| ghost_image01-16-06, 04:46 PM | -Figure a way to put his bag of holding into another and rip the dimension in two, then send him to the fire plane!! -full ninja squad! -make him the BBEG! -anti ninja dungeon (play against all his ninja skills and force him into melee combat!!) |
| The Grig Fiddler01-16-06, 09:55 PM | Make an ancient wyrm fall on him. I used to joke and use the phrase "drop a dragon on you" then a player went too far and I did it. It was red if I remember right. |
| FnordBear01-16-06, 11:36 PM | A fighter/barbarian gestalt armed with mutliple orcish shotputs(arms and equipment guide) enchanted to be brilliant energy/returning "Hey look! That big tough speedy angery-looking man is throwing glowing balls at me!" |
| spectralphoenix01-17-06, 01:09 AM | Use his old characters against him if they were that annoying. And make sure they use a spring wall. That should send a message. |
| Am_I_Still_Unconscious01-17-06, 02:36 AM | Spectral Pheonix you are a malicious genius! you win a nice round of applause!  |
| OctoberRaven01-18-06, 09:46 AM | You don't kill ninja, ninja kills you. Now, if it where a normal assasin, I'd say a Sorcorer target with an Alarm; using a combination of Contingency and Dancing Chains, the contingency being if someone with intent to harm the caster comes within 30 feet of the caster. Put chains all over the floor while you rest. Assasin comes, Contingency sets off, Alarm wakes the Sorceror who catches the Assasin off gaurd thus gaining a Suprise Round. Quickened Mage Armor (just in case) followed by the dancing chains grappling the Assasin. Follow up with Evocations and Chill Metal. You got plenty of rounds to take out the assasin. If he survives, well, the BoVD's Iron Maiden of Preservation (?) would provide all the torture you need while the Sorceror sleeps to the soothing sound of an Assasin screaming in agony and begging for death. |
| Orange_Death01-18-06, 10:20 PM | Put him in a cage with a rabid five-headed pyrotarrasque. Then let the other players point and laugh as he gets torn to shreds. |
| Pz.Az.04Maus01-18-06, 10:36 PM | If he tries to use that bag of holding again, make it turn into a bag of Devouring the instant he uses it, and it becomes a 5-headed Pyrotarrausque: and make it land on him. |
| Zevox01-18-06, 10:52 PM | - His next victim with that Bag of Holding happens to have a Portable Hole on him  . - The party wizard "accidentally" drops a Glitterdust spell on him in the next encounter... just as he was trying to sneak attack that Troll Barbarian :schemes: . - An Assassins guild he happens to cross (or did in the past) puts a price on his head, and an assassin slits is throat in his sleep with a posioned dagger (proving once and for all that Assassins are better than Ninjas :schemes: ). I'm sure the party member who has the night watch will be more than happy to oblige the assassin. - Invisible flying Young Copper Dragon drops an anvil on him as a prank (okay, so I just like this one for the classic cartoon reference). Food for thought ;) . Zevox |
| darkness ninja of light01-18-06, 11:21 PM | in his first battle he snuck up an ogre and tried to stuff him in the bag... i wasnt very happy and told him you cant fit an ogre in a backpack, and then he tried to argue "but it says it can hold X-cubic feet", i hate him, and i told the party his next character will be a first level commoner with 1gp, they said thank you! I don't know if you actually let him go through with it, but to keep him from pulling the trick again the thing is that bag's of holding are only so big. Just because it HOLDS x-cubic feet does not mean that you can actually get something x-cubic feet through the opening of the bag. Think of it like trying to flush someone down the toilet. They don't fit...and ewww... |
| SaunterWedge01-19-06, 01:06 PM | Use a ninja's natural weakness against him by having him pick up an unnatural (humiliating) STD from some sort of shapeshifting creature. Oh, I'm sorry... was the death supposed to be ironic? I'm sure you can work the bag of holding into it somehow. |
| Orange_Death01-23-06, 08:19 PM | :bump: Ha. |
| Ridureyu01-24-06, 03:28 AM | Use a few templates to essentially make monsters invincible. In the minis forum, we wer ejoking about the idea of making a War Troll (already immune fire) immune acide by giving it the half-dragon template. From there, just add another template that makes the troll immune to suffocation, and give him equipment that will protect against instant-death magic. Or homebrew an Inevitable. |
