Was shopping at CostCo, last night. They had Monster Manual III and Frostburn, in gleaming stacks.

For nearly 40% off MSRP.

At CostCo!

:OMG!

Now, granted, I couldn't give a rat's pink bits about either one, but if this trend continues....

40% off? And you didn't pick up MMIII??

What the crap were you smoking? That has some GREAT beasties in it.

Frostburn isn't bad either if you have a world with an ice continent, but MMIII is a great supplement

*calls to roommate in other room* "Hey Dan? Remember how we said we should look into getting a CostCo card? Well it's not a 'Maybe' anymore!"

*shrug*

I have no use for either one.

It would be an insanely great way to buy the core-book boxed set, if they had it.

CostCo? Meh! Overstock is there it's at. Pretty much all D&D books are at 40 to 41% off list. Books that list for under $10 are between 14 and 30% off. Shipping is only $1.40. That's less than sales tax pretty much anywhere. Just lookit the MM3 (http://www.overstock.com/cgi-bin/d2.cgi?PAGE=PROFRAME&PROD_ID=1007630).

I dunno. I'm not convinced getting the $40 membership card to buy RPGs at CostCo.

And what about if we throw in some good deals on bulk toilet paper and bundles of more Cup Noodles than your circle of friends could eat in a year?

Hey, I've got a Costco card. Why don't we all just pile into my truck and make a MMIII run?

:( I wish I was there right now....
Closest thing I got is Sam's Club.
I'm still waiting for Libris Mortis to go on the shelf in my local Borders.

Sam's Club is the place I go for cheap PC games..couldn't remember the name til you said it.

The thing about these type places though is that they tend to let the member and ONE guest in per card..so couldn't really pack everyone in a truck and go..heh

Last thing I bought at Sam's Club? Of course..the giant trampoline that is hanging from the ceiling. :P

Having seen those bulk packaging, by the time I run out, I have to renew the membership card and that's another $40.

Those Overstock prices are great.

5 dollars for the Greyhawk Gazetteer - at the current exchange rate that's less than two pints of beer.

Shame they want 25 dollars to post it to the UK though.... they must use gold coated envelopes or something.

the giant trampoline that is hanging from the ceiling.

I too have considered ways to defeat the inevitable reversal of gravity...
