catzo 12-21-05, 09:18 AM	I posted this in the campaign section, but figured it belonged here better: Come on, you know you all thought about it ;) No as much a campaign, but just a one shot, maybe a "silly" adventure for their standard player group. Has anyone made one, this year or before? How did you do it? Did it turn out good? Is it online so "others" might "borrow" it :D Or maybe you know of someone elses adventure? I'm thinking something along the lines of the players being very kliché adventures and have to help get santa back as his been kidnapped (by goblins who want to make some money on toys) along the way the adventures find presents on most monsters. However there is a completely random table as to what it is... might be very dangerous, might be magical goods. I'm thinking alot of combat less "thinking" (properly a few beers) ending with the players finding the evil Santa claws (totaly stolen from Nightmare before cristmas) and his fiendish raindeers and evil goblins "helpers" henchmen. Oh, and if any of the players are bards, they HAVE to sing christmas songs if they want to give bonus's. :pint:
Santrilla 12-21-05, 11:26 AM	One of our group designed a christmas adventure once, where we all played as children and had to travel to Lapland and find Santa. I don't think we ever got around to playing it though :(
Thadius_Kain 12-21-05, 03:23 PM	we did a christmas adventure where santa was the villan who grew tierd of giving to selfish people and started killing them with a hatchet. turns out that a dark cleric trapped the good in saint nicks heart and thats why he became evil. to late though did we find out, we killed the fat man before we knew. sorry kids no fat man this year. :eek:

Koga:The ninja trick 12-21-05, 06:29 PM	Have you ever read Rob Liefield's work? (He also created Jesus vs The Greek Gods, and Jesus single-handedly mauled them all!) You should checkout Santa The Barbarian which would make for an excellent npc villain, ofcourse lots and lots of elf fodder. Then you could make a snow-golem (Don't know the exact stats, but know it'd be fairly weak) called Frosty (single or plural) and no-one knows how Frosty are formed but when they do they are very malevolent despite being weak. The adventurers come to find out all the Frosty share the same stupid hat, which is the cursed item that forms these menacing creatures. Oh, and there should be a Trent gone mad involved. (Trent being treefolk and the traditional Christmas tree really gets his goat..) And maybe as a magick-item give your PCs a seven-slotted torch that when you light them, the fire doesn't go out for an entire week. (Any Jewish player will get that..)

catzo 12-22-05, 06:52 AM	Hehe, some really good ideas, keep the mcomming :) I'm planing on letting each and every monster hold a present. Size small, medium and big (depending on the CR of the monster) The content however is totally random, I'm working on a random gift table. I't includes everything from traps (poisons, darts, magical), every day items (swords, rope, armour), Magical items, potions, scrolls, beneficial spells, cookies and much much more... It's a shame the oficial chrismas adventure doesn't go live until chrismas morning... I whon't have time for playing D&D between chrismas and new years eve :(. Only got this once "chance". ;) Ho ho ho.
Ralphius_Maximus 12-22-05, 07:25 AM	I'm thinking along the lines of a town living in fear leading up to the one night of the year when a mysterious figure slips into the rooms of the children and whispers in their terrified little ears "Have you been a good little boy/girl this year?" What becomes of the missing children? Who is the fat guy in the red suit(and why is it red?)? And what's with the stockings and the brandy? It could be turned into a very nasty little plotline with very little effort, or kept relatively lighthearted if desired.
