Is there such a word for a martial/ expert treasure hunter type (Fighter/ Rogue, Barbarian/ Jester, Ranger/ Mountebank)? I'm just listing very random ideas as far as the examples. Pay them almost no mind. |

| TheChilliGod02-23-07, 02:14 AM | First word that comes into my mind is "Thug," for your dirty fighters. Then there's "Marauder," for your pillaging fighters. Then there's "Cutthroat," for your assassinating fighters. Hope one of those words helped, although I'm not really aware of any official term for any multiclass archetypes aside from "Gish." |

It became handy shorthand on these boards for mage-that-fights when JosephKell popularized it on the CO boards with his first gish guide, and originally the term was NOT used for fighter-with-magic, although eventually it encompassed any old fighter/mage character, including divine/warrior and psionic/warrior (which, ironically, the term originally meant -- the githyanki used psionics thematically, but because the psionics rules SUCKED until 3.5, they were mechancially changed to wizards). But no official source has ever used the word "gish" for fighter/mage. |
