| Kevtar10-12-06, 09:59 AM | Hi all, I don't have my books with me, so I was wondering if someone could help me out. I am placing a suit of armor in my campaign that would grant the endurance feat. What are the rules for determining the cost of an item that grants a PC a feat? Also, I have a PC who just found a legacy weapon and has gone to a sage to learn about its history. Are there rules for charging a PC for knowledge, and how is that cost determined? Thanks |

In general, price based as you would any other item -- compare the power level to an existing item and price accordingly. As for the sage advice... Make your job easy. Have the sage ask the PC what it is worth to him. The price the PC offers is half what the sage then requires. |

The first rule is to price it based on similar magic items. Since neither of us have come up with any Endurance items, we move on to general pricing rules. The Arms and Equipment Guide came up with a general formula of 10,000 gp for an item that grants a feat, with an additional cost of 5,000 - 10,000 gp for each prerequisite. Since Endurance doesn't have any prerequisites, the suggested value would be whatever the armor is worth normally, plus 10,000 gp. |
